(On a side note, I'm guessing that Doug is never going to end up in the World of Darkness and bump into the Technocracy? Because it seems the missing element in the GUT he describes is that he treats magic and science/technology as different things, rather than the latter being just being another 'tradition' of the former... See Clarke's Law, the corollary, and the Florence Ambrose commentary....)
