Coratoa.
Everlight animal shelter.
Angel was not a happy rabbit.
He been waiting for Fiona to come home
and feed the animals, himself included, but she was still out doing
what ever a Vet did as a hero. He was contemplating heading up stairs
messing up her bed when the front door opened and Fiona almost fell
through it, arm's full of grocery bags.
As she staggered in, she managed to get
to the kitchen and drop off her bags before wandering over and
picking him up in a hug. “Oh I'm so sorry Angel, I got called to
help some heroes and completely lost track of the time, I hope you
and the other animals can forgive me?”
Twitching his nose as he gave a sigh.
“Fiona, please tell me you weren’t distracted by another poor
little injured bird or something, the last one left a nasty burn on
the rug.” He sniffed, dropping off the couch and hopped over to
her.
She careful picked him up and placed
him on her shoulder as she headed back outside and started to feed
the animals. “Oh no, I was helping some heroes again.” she said
as she began recounting her day, his ear perked up at the mention of
miss Electra Van Dynamo. The young woman seemed to crop up quite a
lot lately.
“She is very nice.” She went on.
“She even gave me a box of chocolates.”
He chuckled. “Rather nice of her.”
“She even commented on my outfit...
well, part of it...” Fiona trailed off blushing.
Angel twitched his nose. “Giving
chocolates? Complementing your outfit outfit? My dear girl, she seems
quite taken with you. When do you plan to invite her around?”
“Oh... I'm not sure if that would be
such a good idea. You see, she's not a fan of trees.”
The both looked at the forest Fiona's
cottage skirted the edge of.
“An aversion to trees? What on earth
can cause such a thing?”
“I'm not sure, but when we were
fighting some of the Devouring Earth, she looked very nervous.”
Pot, say hello to Kettle.
Angel mused.
She topped up the last of the feed
troughs before heading back inside, Fiona started putting the
groceries away, she muttered a spell to make her wings shrink to
something more manageable as she then started on their dinner.
“So now the question is.” he asked,
hoping around the table as she put his plate down before ditting
herself down with a cup of tea. “How do you wish to progress?”
“Um... what do you mean?”
“Well.” he starred as he did his
best to pick up a carrot and started to nibble. “It's obvious that
you like her and she likes you... do you plan to take it to the next
“level” as they say?”
“Huh?”
“To put it bluntly. Do you wish to
have sex with her?”
Fionas fork missed her plate, digging
into the able as a blush worked it's way up her face.
Angel finished the carrot and poked his
plate, finding a nice crisp bit of lettuces to chew on before
continuing. “Ahhh, judging by your reaction, you do. It's a good
thing Valentines is coming up then, isn't it?”
“It is! Oh, oh dear... um... maybe I
should probably get her some sort of present?” She asked as she
took a sip of tea.
“I believe Chocolates and roses are
traditional... or you could try a gift that is more, lacey,
possibly even erotic?” The
Rabbit waggled his eyebrows, chuckling as Fiona a choking noise as
she tried not to spray half the table with her drink.
“Angel!” she gasped out shocked,
her face a deep crimson at this point. “Isn't such a thing too...
too forward?”
Sitting down, he looked up at her. “It is possible, you would never
know until you try.”
They finished dinner in silence, Fiona seeming lost in thought.
“I think I have an idea.” She mumbled.
“And what is that?”
“Um... well, it's a bit of a complicated one.. I might need to
check some things out first.”
As she got up and started to wash the dishes, he rubbed his chin
slightly. What was she planing? He mused.
* * *
Several days had passed and Angel had finally made some progress with
the remote. He discovered he could use it if he held a pen in his
mouth and pressed blindly.
Grumbling about the indignity of it, he heard the front door open and
watched as Fiona came in with another young woman, holding her arm in
a death grip and wearing what looked like torn spandex and some
strange armour. It didn't really seem to offer any form of defence...
but did work well at highlighting her “talents”.
Fiona closed the door after them, causing to woman to loosen her grip
and smiled. “Um, here we are.” She waved an arm around the room,
walking over to the couch, she lent down and stroked his head. “Oh
Electra, this is Angel.”
He ducked out from her petting and bowed to the shorter woman. “A
pleasure.”
Electra's jaw dropped. “He talks?”
“Oh yes” Fiona seemed. “He's sort of my mentor, apparently he
was a powerful wizard that got cursed to be a helper for people like
me.”
Angel stood on his hind legs and stood to attention as well as his
body would let him. “A light punishment given my crimes... but it
could have been worse, I could have been trapped within a skull.”
he shivered slightly before continuing. “But to other things, what
brings you to our humble abode?”
Electra's face split into a cheeky grin. “Well the water is out at
my place and Fiona being the soul of kindness she is offered to let
me use her tub.”
Looking to Fiona, he saw her blushing heavily as she chewed her lip.
“I see.”
Climbing off the couch he gave her a slight wink and hopped towards
the door. “Well ladies, I must be out for a bit, taking care of the
pumpkin menace. damn things think they can walk where ever they
wish.” He sniffed. “Savages.”
Exiting the cottage, he heard the pair whispering and smiled
slightly. The girl was finally starting to exit her shell. He
mused, spotting a Fir Blog that had stared to close to the sanctuary
and started to chase after it. Though by the looks of it, she might
of leapt right out of her shell and the proverbial closet.
As the Fir Blog ran away, it's spindly arms waving wildly over it's
head he sat down and chuckled. And that Electra girl didn't seem so
bad, he wondered what would come of their friendship as he started
patrolling the cottage.
Oh well, only time would tell.
