Scientology?

This was me as well. Mostly I was just wondering how closely the IST world modeled after ours in terms of things like Scientology existing or not. In my campaign timeline for the post-Y2K IST universe, it is pretty important as it involves the origins of a pretty awful baddy based on a certain couch-dancing Oprah freaking celebutwip (apologies to any diehard fans of said celebutwip, YMMV) we all know and love. My question mostly concerned the fact of Scientology's existence in the IST universe and whether the topic had ever come up. The thread pretty quickly derailed as such things are wont to do, but I got the answer I was expecting in the end.

Any other thoughts would be welcome.
