Holy crap. That's even better than the Japanese using superbikes to catch up on people with tuned up Skylines...

Well, it's actually yet another police PR machine. However that doesn't mean that it wouldn't be used for the odd patrol, mostly driven by the motorcycle division as I think they'd have the skills and gear to handle it.

My first thought was that someone in the constabulary was watching too much éX-driver, even if I hadn't heard of problems with AI driven cars in the UK. But as a PR move? Not bad. If I read correctly it was donated so it's good PR for Arial Motors, and it's highly visible so it should grab attention when it's driven -- although how well the Somerset Constabulary will tie that into their safe driving campaign I'm not sure...

"We're watching, can't you see us watching? Even a hopped up crotch rocket jockey can't get away from this, so be good!" Basically, the thread title and first post non-link text.

Restricted, modern superbikes are still capable of doing 300kph.

A Kawasaki GTR 1400 will do it with a whole gear to go... and is utterly effortless at that speed. (Dont ask how I know...erm)

You know people who have unlimited access to a test tack, too? Small world.

My only real vice is velocity...

I'm not really as bad as I was a few years ago.... I've mellowed a bit. I still like bringing the needle up to 9000 every now and then when the road is clear though.

the only problem i see with this little beauty of a speed demon is that i dont think it has enough mass to do a successful pit manuever, i could be wrong but i dont think so.

UK police don't normally do that.

Too much risk of the car going somewhere you don't want it to go. Like into oncoming traffic, or somewhere where there're innocents. They have other techniques like rolling roadblocks, and the Stinger to puncture tyres.
