Aurora warning for Wednesday night
Aurora warning for Wednesday night
#1
Heads up! Chance to see northern lights on Wednesday night

TL;DR: There's a coronal mass ejection on the way, expected to hit "late on Sept. 6 and into Sept. 7". The ejection is strong enough that aurora might be visible in southern Canada and northern USA. "For the best chance to see the lights, head out to a dark location and look north. You can try photographing them with a DSLR on a tripod by taking a 15- to 20-second exposure with the focus set on infinity or a distant object."

NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center has a 30-minute aurora forecast.--

Likewise. No auroras visible from Ottawa last night.

Did anybody get to see them?--

Not me. I was probably in the same weather pattern as Bob, only an hour or two earlier.

Too far south here.  We've had the best star-watching weather for a while here -- and it's a full moon, which tells you how bad the weather has been here lately.  I mean, it wasn't a hurricane or anything, but TS Lidia did throw up a bunch of moisture, which combined with desert downslope winds to give us humid, 85°F/30°C lows.  I mean, the ocean is only 68°F/20°C, like a mile a way... grr.  Things have since improved.-- ?×V

Didn't even bother looking.  Even if it had been strong enough to be seen near Los Angeles, the light-bleed would have washed it out.Hear that thunder rolling till it seems to split the sky?
