Feeling Old
03-18-2008, 06:50 PM
I was hired at my current job 17 and a half years go. In that time, I've seen a lot of employees come and go, and I've seen a few stay as long as I have.
I just realized yesterday that some of the women at work that I thought were attractive (or even, dare I say it, hot) back when I was hired -- or, in a couple cases, just five or so years ago -- (and who are still around) are, well... those that aren't matronly are actually elderly.
I feel like curling into a ball and mourning my lost youth.

Wasn't there an add campaign - The Older You Get The More Sense MILF Makes.
Or was that Milk
I must be getting old too, I can't rightly remember.
I think it was Grouch Marx who said 'You're only as old as the woman you feel' which means that Hugh Heffner is is 54 (Three eighteen year olds)
It happens to all of us, except Keith Richards

It gets worse, Bob. In a couple more years they'll be hiring people who weren't even BORN yet when you started.

It's already bad enough that I'm (ahem) admiring the ones who were born while I was in college... When I get to that point, it's probably going to
break me entirely.

Just remember:
Growing old is manditory, growing up is optional.

And occasionally cry out 'Watahaul! Watahaul!' while skipping forwards

When I hit forty my lovely wife has stated that she shall paint the back of my gorilla suit silver.
It's been years since I read Asimov's Sensuous Dirty Old Man, but I recall it being filled with much wisdom in this regard (about making the transition
to DOM, not gorilla suits.)

OK, all you young pups whining about being old, I've got one thing to say to you (well, two, actually; the ability to count is one of the first things to go when senility sets in):
-----
Big Brother is watching you. And damn, you are so bloody BORING.

Oh, don't say that. In a rare, brief moment alone while waiting for people at EPCOT last week, Joe and I were discussing the vast preponderance of PYTs at the Disney parks while we where there. With the emphasis on both P and Y. Dunno about him, but it was making me feel old again.

Well, consider this sad fact... Those PYT's were most likely wearing much less than they would be back home in NJ, where it isnt as warm...
