Heinlein's own FAQ
Heinlein's own FAQ
#1
Well, a proto-FAQ... Apparently, Robert A. Heinlein once got so busy answering fan mail that he didn't have time to write paying work. He didn't want to ignore the fans, so he came up with a list of the most frequently asked questions, answered them, and typed the list of answers (without the questions) into a form letter. Then he sent copies of the form letter with the appropriate boxes checked off to the fans.

More http://kk.org/ct2/2008/09/heinleins-fan ... lution.php]here, including a scan of the form letter itself.

"Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose
them. Adversaries remain citizens of the same state, common subjects of
the same sovereign, servants of the same law."

- Michael Ignatieff, addressing Stanford University in 2012

You know, now I wish I had written him, just to get one of those back...
