So, somebody forgot to tell the NYC mayor's office that a large aircraft would be flying very low in Manhattan airspace, for a photo-op. Never mind that it's this aircraft; who in his right mind would have thought to stage a low-level flight over Manhattan less than eight years after 9/11 and barely twelve weeks after the Hudson crash without telling everybody and their pet dogs, in advance, loudly?

I'm guessing somebody's in trouble...

At least one article I've read on it already says a White House official described President Obama as "fuming" about the incident and feeling
that new photos of the plane weren't needed -- it sort of implied that he might not have been notified of it beforehand. Of
course, they'd say that in any case....

It's a sad state of affairs when even someone who voted for the current administration in a country doesn't trust that administration --
any administration -- to be completely honest about its blunders, let alone its crimes.

As a general rule it's not the President's job to stay on top of the motor pool. As long as there's a plane waiting in case he needs to go somewhere, he lets the staff handle it. That's their job, to worry about fiddly things while the president deals with the important shit. So it doesn't surprise me that as long as plane #1 was ready they wouldn't bother the boss with a low-priority photo op with the backup.

Nice dramatic sigh, incidentally.
