[fluff] Who should NOT direct the live-action BGC movie?

This came up over on Usenet (alt.fan.bgcrisis, specifically...)

Someone who goes by the handle "antagonist" posted to one of the threads about the current live-action BGC movie:

They're looking for a director right now. I really hope Uwe Boll's schedule is full so he can't ruin this movie.

My reply was:

You'd rather maybe they get Woody Allen? Or McG?

Which begs the question: Who else shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the BGC movie's director's chair?

Michael Bey seems to be doing a pretty good job with a couple of movies about giant robots that turn into cars. Mind you, he does have The Spielberg hovering
over him. Maybe Luc Besson? He's always good for a slightly off-kilter action flick.

Amusing. This is the guy who made "The Island" (which wasn't terrible) because he "felt like making a summertime popcorn movie." Which
is, as far as I can tell, all he makes. Not that they're bad movies; I like Michael Bay movies for the most part. I just don't think he's going to
make anything deep and meaningful.

Luc Besson... Whoa... Yes, he certainly know how to handle action and strong female leads; and has just the right balance between spectable and sensibility
- he also has a good grasp on what makes action work.

Michael Bay should not be let near the franchise - in fact his nuts should be ripped off and nailed to the studio door as a warning to Christopher Columbus
and Brett Ratner.
