All The Tropes Wiki Project, Part XXXII

Quite honestly, I thought all Miraheze staff already had it; I mean, those were the first staff actions to show up in our recent changes that needed moderation/patrolling.

I see some user renames waiting for our approval in the moderation queue. (User [NAME REDACTED] to Vanished user [NUMBER REDACTED].)

No.

The user responsible made those edits in their official capacity as a Miraheze staff member. With that in mind, I approved the edits.

Perhaps we should give User:NotAracham_(Miraheze) autopatrolled status, then.

This is starting to look like qa case of "refusing to learn from honest mistakes"...

As to the first matter, I concur. As to the second, I agree entirely.

On an unrelated note, happy holidays.

So... does anyone have anything else more to say on the subject of Pregler Lupa? So far we seem to be unanimous about a permanent ban.

It would cut the Moderation backlog in half... but our lack of resources is not a reason to ban somebody.

Give him another chance -- but if he messes up again after what I told him about the current batch of edits that we're still working through, ban 'em.

Speaking of problem children... I just put Pregler Lupa on notice -- again. This time it's for edit-warring. (No, you don't get to put an example that had been sorted back into "Other/Unsorted", especially when you have to re-create that catchall in order to un-sort the example.)

Since his last tempban was a month long, I've let him know that we'll discuss whether to make the next one permanent, if there is a next one.

So... VincentFox12233 hasn't been back on the wiki since November 23. (I also note that his contribution list consists of nothing but 149 repetitions of adding Category:Horror Tropes to anything and everything under the sun.) I suspect he was either a glorified drive-by, since he made all those edits in three sessions, or he's hiding from us. I'm going to give him a three-month attention-getter ban to see if it'll smoke him out.

Thanks for the report.  This is essentially a GDPR compliance issue, all of this stuff should bypass the moderation queue entirely.  They trust us to not leak, but we're not the only wiki with the Moderation enabled.  They're currently figuring out which rights the need to give those accounts to bypass the checks in future.
