The Imperial Presidency, Part 2
RE: The Imperial Presidency, Part 2

Can't say as I'm totally surprised. After all, Donnyboy did post that AI pic of himself as Pope last year...

I preferred the one of him in an orange jumpsuit and cuffs, myself. Even more unrealistic of course, but it went well with his bottled tan.

I didn't even get to the other crazy stories. Just as a reminder that it's not just the top going crazy, Trump admin makes sweeping request for medical records of federal workers. It turns out federal workers are spending too much on health care, and they need to get all of the records from their entire family to find out why. Plus the best way to get compliance might be post about someone's daughters mental health issues on Truth Social.

JD Vance took a trip to Hungary, spent half his speech lambasting the EU for foreign meddling in Hungary's elections, and the other half endorsing Orbán for re-election.

Finally, something I can get behind. ICE is big and poorly run!

Many of the Very Serious People (TM) we allow to be our pundit class seem to have decided that, if you're a Republican who doesn't bother with a cover-up, there's no actual crime, and to humor those who have decided, if they can't find evidence of a crime by a member of "the Democrat Party"*, that just proves how high the cover-up goes.

* Have I mentioned how thoughtful it is of these glorps, drobes, and other disembrained bodies to talk about "the Democrat Party"? Since at least 1954, it's been 100% reliable at conveying to intelligent aware people, in the minimum number of words, the message "The only things I use my brain for are storing pro-billionaire talking points so I can regurgitate them as needed and keeping my scalp from falling down my windpipe and putting me the fuck out of the misery of people who aren't as mercifully free of the ravages of intelligence as I am." Meanwhile, the Pentagon is now scrambling to deny that anyone threatened anyone connected to the Catholic church.

Predictably.

Things are going so poorly with the Iran War that – while the Pentagon is denying its antipope plans, while the President is telling the Senate to get rid of the filibuster so "Republicans will never lose again", while for the first time in half a century that we have humans orbiting the Moon – they still had to send Melania out to remind us about the Epstein files. That's how badly they want us distracted from the war.

"I didn't know Epstein that well, we just ran in the same circles" -- literally everyone who knew Jeffrey Epstein well

Can't we get someone better to run our country, like Liz Truss?
