A Catgirl walks into a bar
11-03-2008, 10:09 PM
She plops down a large bundle of assorted fen script and orders a steady stream of Wave Shots, a blanket and a bucket.
As she sits at a table in the back of the bar she proceed, (Between drinking a shot, and upchucking bits of metal, plastic and electronic parts) to tell her
tale.
She was exploring the Oort cloud when she was captured by Reaver Catgirls. She was then shoved into a Vat of Handwavium with a plastic skeleton modified with
claws and electronic bits. She tries, and fails to describe the physical and mental pain as her body is bonded to the Skeleton and the electronics attached to
her Central nervous system. She tells of the Horror of having to watch her body capture other fen and force them into a similar vat for transformation.
As She tells this tale her body is shifting and reforming each time changing only a little bit with each consumption of Handwaved Jello(tm), alcohol, and
microchips.
Finaly the transformation is complete. The cat girl is now a Middle Aged Man with a very unusual Biomod. Wrapped in the blanket, he exits the bar and whistles
loudly, summoning from nearby a dirty yellow Vespa with an Electric Guitar strapped to it. He mounts the Vespa, and zips away at a speed that can be
considered near reckless only if you aproach from the other side of reckless speed....

Ack!
Did you just have somebody undo a biomod? (It sure looks like that's what just happened.) There's a problem with that, because this is something that Just Doesn't Happen.
http://fnord.sandwich.net/fenwiki/doku. ... ulestart Rule #2: "You can get one biomod, you get only one, and after you get it, you can't get rid of it, barring major reconstructive surgery - and sometimes not even then." Drinking a shot of something is not "major reconstructive surgery" - and it doesn't matter what's in the shot.
And my understanding of the consensus of the Fenspace Collective so far has been that the Catgirling Machine treatment counts as a biomod...

Agreed with Rob. Unless this is WAY in the future of the setting, this shouldn't happen. If anything the underlying "super-homeostasis" inherent
to the catgirl would undo the change PDQ.

The Underlying Biomod here was origionally intended as a Diagnostic Tool.
It's not a "Cure" to Catgirling that every one can use, as it has to be in place to begin with.
All the first Biomod does is allow for a temporary secondary Biomod that will fade with time on it's own (based on the severity of the Biomod in question).
Ingesting Handwavium speeds up the "rejection" By several orders of magnitude.
Yes, this would be a ways in the future.
I figure that it would take several years Just to rebuild the Nervous System enough to regain control of the body.

Indeed. On the other hand, the idea of Reaver Catgirls is, well... hmmm.

Sucrose Octanitrate.
Proof positive that with sufficient motivation, you can make anything explode.

It's a perfectly reasonable (if perfectly abhorent) idea. Doctor Grey is a b*stard, after all...

It's even been discussed before...
Basically the Reaver Class Cat-girl is a Slave/Soldier Bio-mod Operation gone wrong.
The Operation Starts out Simply enough:
- Capture a group victims (probably a bunch of young girls).
- Put the victims into an automated Cat-Girling processor to produce computer controlled slaves/soldiers.
- Use the produced soldiers to capture the next group of victims.
- Repeat Steps 2, and 3 until a set population level is reached.
When a certain Population density is met the Operation is Split, and a captured ship is used to create a secondary operation.
Some where along the line,
- The Boskones capture the wrong set of victims (Didn't somebody lose a bunch of Kunoichi?), or some other excuse.
- The Cat-girls (in and Ironic sense of Justice) capture and process the Boskones.

The Catgirl process as written Does Not Work That Way™. {As creator of the "tech" behind it, I should know.}
As written, the process is physical only. Mental effects currently depend on hardtech techniques. The process it traumatic to those who aren't rendered
unconscious, leaving a "blank-ish" slate. Most of the catgirl slaves are made such through Pavlovian pleasure/pain conditioning or forced addiction
to such drugs as opium, crack cocaine, or thionite.

Well, Your process doesn't work that way. Mine sort of Hijacks the CNS of the body in question and runs it remotely through a wireless node.
It doesn't necessarily have to be a human body to start with, we could use large Felines. Humans are just more readily available in space than large
cats....
