practical costume choices

This isn't so much a comment on my costume (as it isn't all that visible in the shot). But more of a comment on costume choices vs power selections.
I would not be wearing as short a dress as Ms Liberty wears if I spent as much time as she did in the air.
Then again, most enemies may not remember the nice view they had after being introduced to her foot.

Distraction is a long standing and very effective tactic in combat.
If it causes a momentarily pause in your opponent's attack, then the pointless panty shot isn't.

In the second CoH Novel, "The Freedom Phalanx", there's a scene where Jessica Cole is talking to her grandpa. Paraphrased, because I don't have the book with me:-
Jessica: "My costume's gonna be just like mom's." *face scrunches up* "Except not so skimpy."
Grandpa: "Skimpy? Oh, I don't know. You might change your mind when you grow up..."
...
Jessica is, of course, the future Ms. Liberty, and her Grandpa is Marcus Cole, Statesman.

(Incidentally, Jessica draws a picture that turns up near the end of the book, showing her flying with Grandpa. Statesman observes that the costume does, indeed, look a lot like her mom's, except less skimpy. But it also has a lot more ribbons than mom's, and a pony motif.)

Heehee...I have that novel myself, and I quite enjoyed it.
And I agree with Rev - distraction can be a very useful tactic.
