Song of the Day, 9/25/03
Song of the Day, 9/25/03
#1
To sail on a dream on a crystal clear ocean
To ride on the crest of a wild raging storm
To work in the service of life and the living
In search of the answers to questions unknown
To be part of the movement and part of the growing
Part of beginning to understand
Aye, calypso, the places youve been to
The things that youve shown us
The stories you tell
Aye, calypso, I sing to your spirit
The men who have served you
So long and so well
Like the dolphin who guides you
You bring us beside you
To light up the darkness and show us the way
For though we are strangers in your silent world
To live on the land we must learn from the sea
To be true as the tide
And free as the wind-swell
Joyful and loving in letting it be
Aye, calypso, the places youve been to
The things that youve shown us
The stories you tell
Aye, calypso, I sing to your spirit
The men who have served you
So long and so well
Aye, calypso, the places youve been to
The things that youve shown us
The stories you tell
Aye, calypso, I sing to your spirit
The men who have served you
So long and so well

Then the horns kicked in...
...and my shoes began to squeak.

You know Bob, I have to wonder if this song isn't the exception that proves the rules for the rest of them....
By acting like a song of conjuring.
It generates a complete simacrula of the Calypso, except for crew. If Doug Keeps concentrating till the end of the song, she'll stay till midnight. If he doesnt' or ends the song prematurely, she vanishes.
And, if for some reason he needs her for longer than midnight, Doug can do that... at the cost of using his metatalent. IE, the second he uses it for anything else, she vanishes like a popped soap bubble."I was an Otaku before those kids came along and changed the meaning of the word."

Hear that thunder rolling till it seems to split the sky?
That's every ship in Grayson's Navy taking up the cry-

NO QUARTER!!!
