Alternate magic sources

Bob, I was idly reading the FAQ again (as you do) when a thought struck me while reading the mana question.

How would you (or Doug) categorise things like Nanoha style Linker Cores and Nasuverse (Fate/Stay Night) Magical Circuits? Internalised Nodes for the linker cores, or dammed Ley Lines for the magical circuits?

I don't know any Nasuverse at all, so I can't comment on that, but I would tentatively compare linker cores to the magegift itself, maybe drawing a more direct parallel with the glyph Doug gave to Lisa Vanette with "Invisible Touch", which acted as a temporary artificial magegift.

Could the magic sources be the same, just expressed differently because of different universes' world-views?

(That was my working assumption over in this alt-Fenspace thread, and it seemed to work well enough.)

Oh sure, that's part of the cosomology -- there's one magic all the way at the "bottom level", all the different styles are just different ways to access it.
