what's the range on this? the big limiting factor I have seen in all of the previous personal flight machines is that they can't carry much gas.
cars/bikes can get their great MPG (at least in comparison to planes) because don't have to constantly fight against gravity. -Terry ----- "so listen up boy, or pornography starring your mother will be the second worst thing to happen to you today" TF2: Spy
Yeah, I don't think this will ever be more than an expensive toy, but it's still cool. Personally, I can't imagine sitting calmly in that saddle knowing there are two rapidly rotating blades mere inches away from my groin.
Why am I not suprsied someone from Tasmania made this thing?
He's from Tazzie!?! I thought he was a Kiwi. Either way I wouldn't use it till someone develops a anti-grav system and a long lasting power systems available for it.
Most of my issue with it is that it has the potential of putting you at the mercy of the wind. Another point in favor of keeping contact with the ground for me.

Tasmania could make a good Endor in a pinch
Well, according to those fine fellows over at 2000 A.D. (yes, yes, I know that Tharg actually only uses writer and artist droids, but they emote so well, who can blame me for anthropomorphising?), it'll be hoverboards. Watch out for a fellow named Shakespeare, he's going places....
