Why isn't it a surprise that it's a http://en.rocketnews24.com/2015/04/15/j ... od-as-new/]Japanese craftsman who can do the apparently impossible?
Anyone who's got a treasured but crumbling book might want to look into this guy's rates, and how much it costs to ship round trip to his shop.

I do admit he does an extremely good job.

But there might be somebody a bit closer than the other side of the Pacific who can do almost as good a job...

Most universities in the US have a small Library Arts department who could likely do a similar job. It's just would they be willing to do it?

My stepfather does it in his spare time. Not to that extent, certainly, but he's a pretty good bookbinder.
