The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson to create his own Star Wars trilogy

Has anybody else directed an entire Star Wars trilogy before?

I legitimately believe that it was Disney's plan all along to ensure a Star Wars film every year. They got a real bargain for Lucasfilm, this is just the start.
