This person had a string of 'guest hosts' to try out for the position, only to put himself in as the new host because the decisions was always his, resulting in a massive backlash.

According to the Variety, the network made the call to hire him, under the assumption that a boring white guy would distract less from the show. The fan uproar was expected… but not the evidence of misogyny.

There’s still hope for LaVar Burton’s candidacy! C’mon, the man reprogrammed a multiphasic shield array while blind, and taught thousands of kids about reading.
