The description on the YouTube page says 1968-1969, so I expect it's a deliberate reference.

Oh, once I heard it I knew it was a deliberate reference. I have very clear memories of watching Laugh-In! during its original run and the singers were obviously attempting to evoke the show without ever really referencing it.
