Okay, I need costume help.
10-25-2006, 08:22 AM
I have multiple heroes/villains to create costumes for, and I'm completely stuck on themes. Here's the costumes I have for each one so far of the ones I'm stuck on:
Unseeing Eye (Ill/Kin Controller)
1) Orange/Grey, lots of circles. Emphasis on the 'eye' aspect.
2) Green/Black. Green Lantern/Parallax homage.
3) Purple, martial arts robe/pants. I was thinking oriental mage when I made it.
4) ????????????
Dustball (dark/dark scrapper):
1) Think a drow in a wife-beater and jeans. I dunno, it made me giggle.
2) Homage costume to 'The Shadow'
3) I need a 'darkness' hero to homage - who?
Australis (PB):
1) Steve Irwin/Quigley Down Under homage.
2) Australian 'patriotic' outfit (red/white/blue)
3) ???????????????????????
Ones I *have* decided, but haven't made yet. If you have any suggestions, let me know:
VLSI (Warshade):
I've been making his costumes progressively more 'human-like' and less robotic. His first was all circuitry, the second is a sort of robot body. I'm thinking one of the next two should be the 'metallic' body.
Inheritance (Soldier/Traps MM):
His first was based off of the Padded outfit. His second is sort of an homage to some of the Arachnos LTs/Bosses. His third is going to look like the Spec Ops soldier.

I'd offer to help, but I have the fashion sense of Oliver Hardy. I find something that looks cool and use it as my Costume of the Moment.

be warned, I'm in a silly mood.
For Unseeing Eye, you could go with a costume of hideously clashing colors/patterns (something only a blind man would wear.)
As for a 'dark hero' to homage, you could try Darkman. *shrugs*
And for Australis, well, maybe you can make a Kangaroo themed costume?

Darkman isn't silly.
For silly, you need, well...

Unfortunately, while Darkwing Duck *did* come to mind, considering I've already got a Shadow homage costume it's not really a good choice.
I was thinking someone like Cloak.--

Nice, but you won't be able to do it right until you hit 20th... until then, he'd be just a blue-black bodysuit and a hood.

If you want something a little more colorful, you could do Lee Falk's . Phantom or Alan Moore's Nite-Owl.
I would suggest the Spider, but in appearance, he's something of a Shadow knockoff. Probably doesn't translate very well.Ebony the Black Dragon

Okay, here are my suggestions, in visual format.

Okay. Orange. Black. Lots of circles. Eye theme. How's this?
Quote:
2) Green/Black. Green Lantern/Parallax homage.
Okay. Ignore the fact that the mods on my system actually HAVE the Green Lantern Symbol in place of the Bullseye that I wanted to put there. ^_^;; Just - remember the bullseye? Well put that where that Lantern symbol is, mkay? Yes, I am thinking literally here.
On the other hand, using the new Justice plate set, this looks REALLY cool!
Quote: 3) Purple, martial arts robe/pants. I was thinking oriental mage when I made it.
Right, here ya go. It's a start anyway.
Quote: Dustball (dark/dark scrapper):
2) Homage costume to 'The Shadow'
Ya think we can do an homage to the Shadow?
...

...
Oh HELL yeah... ^_^
Quote: Australis (PB):
1) Steve Irwin/Quigley Down Under homage.
Roit! He'll do ya up quick, mate! ^_^
Quote: 2) Australian 'patriotic' outfit (red/white/blue)
Hmmm... kinda bland. Is there some other color we could throw in there? I know the flag is red white and blue, but is there an additional color that is associated with Australia?
Overall, not bad for 30 minutes work, eh? ^_^

Logan, I was explaining *what* I have already.
I find it interesting how close and far your designs are from what I already have.
It's neat.--

Er...
Oops?
I blame a long day at work, punctuated by a quick (too quick) look at the forums during break. Seeing your post, going "Ah HAH!!" Then getting home and quickly dashing off the screenies and posting in a fit of "mad science" abandon.

Or that chain maille number Tina Turner wore in the third one. He'd look good in that one.
Too bad one of the pets isn't a Stingray...
Mad Max would be a nice Iconic Australian image. Or perhaps Russel Crowe (/e throwphone /e punchreporter)
Beach togs and thong sandals are another popular Australian flavor; or you could throw caution to the wind and try and do Bernadette, Mitzi or Tick from The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
With the new ear selections in I8 you may be able to make a roo or a drop bear costume (Kangaroos or Koala.) Or even a big lizard - Australis! Crocodile Hunted!
