My guess would be that the kind-of-disjointed feel is deliberate, since it's narrated by Shocker and he's either having a psychotic break or in the middle of a murthering great battle for pretty much all of the last tw chapters. At east, that was my interpretation.

I'd go with the Drogn, but I'd extend it. Skocker is basically going through an world view change... discovering that several decades of history are bogus... fighting for his life again, well He hasn't tackled Apocolypse or Galactis, yet. Lost most of his stuff... been lossing minor body parts repeatedly and there are godlike beings using him as a TV program... I'd be worried if it wasn't a bit disjointed.

All I can say in regards to the Shocker story is this: I COULD have been playing CIty of Heroes. In fact, I found out later that I missed the opportunity to participate in a nice little Task Force. I COULD have eaten dinner about 4 hours ago.
But instead I HAD to read to the most current part of this story. DAMN that's some nice writing. I'm not even a Marvel junkie and just know the bare-bones basics of the Marvel-verse. But I was drawn in anyway.
I'll have to keep an eye on this one.

For those who aren't really up on Marvel, I found a page with some nice imagtes of Shocker, in his suit at least. There's a cute scripting trick on the most recent, but the one I imagine for the story is the third one down. Warning: Do NOT touch the Shocker!
I'm still trying to find an image of Herman with his mask off... let alone Peelo or the other minor characters. I don't think Ultimate continuity Shocker is really the same - aside from hair color, he's too young, and seems to have a scar on one cheek from the one scan I did find, where Shocker-616 is noted as having no distinguishing features. Well, before the various things that happened in-fic, but I'm talking about base Marvel (dis)continuity.

It's also completely wrong, but it's from Shocker's perspective, so that makes sense. Spider-Man doesn't crack wise because he's a bully, and he certainly doesn't fight the "same 25 guys" all the time, unless Shocker considers Thanos, former heralds of Galactus, and assorted other Avengers-caliber villains to be in that grouping. Spider-Man cracks wise because Peter Parker is scared of being pasted across a wall by someone. It's how he keeps moving.
But, as has been established, Shocker's a bit fixated on Spidey, so he's going to be a bit skewed in his perception of the facts.Ebony the Black Dragon

Frankly, the more and more this series goes on the more and more I get a very strong "Shocker Sue" vibe out of the writing. Especially/w the relationship with Felicia. I mean, Black Cat has known Spiderman long enough to known that everything Herman was saying was bullshit, but didn't once call him on it? Seriously?-----------------

"Black Cat has known Spiderman long enough to known that everything Herman was saying was bullshit, but didn't once call him on it?"Umm, actually it does have somewhat of a ring of truth.
Spidey IS acting out against criminals out of a sense of guilt.
The bits about him possibly being a coward might be going to far, since its mostly an artifact of him having his own series inside the manyfold marvel stuff.
That is not something that can carry through to in-character type stuff, though.

It's my impression that the Marvel uni showed in Shocker: Legit is the Ultimate edition. Remember, in that one, practically everyone who *isn't* a mutant is somehow related to various attempts to recreate Cap America's super soldier serum.
In the Ultimate Spidey comics, Spidey's under a few guns, the biggest of which is that dear old Nick Fury knows who he is and when he turns 18 he's going to be immediately and unwillingly drafted into SHIELD, as an illegal altered human.
And, Felicia does know his identity, but doesn't know him as Peter very well.
This is all AFAIK, from what I've gathered reading the comics at my fiancee's workplace.--

No, it's definitely based off the "standard" MU, just with a number of twists. There's nothing from the Ultimate line here. (Reed Richards is not a teenager, Galactus is not a Berserker starfleet, the Avengers aren't called the Ultimates... the list goes on and on and on...)--Sam
