Given that the author's high concept as related in the summary or a note was literally "What if Harry started the series with the smart mouth and attitude of a 17yr/o teenager?" ... yeah. Thoguh I'll admit, the only Sue-like attribute so far is getting away with it with minimal punishment, rather than incredable speshul powerz that steamroll all opposition instantly, so it's nothing the humor can't forgive. Of course, it only just got to the Sorting, and Hermione pretty much instantly fell into a 'track you down to keep arguing' best of enemies type relationship, so there's plenty of room for badness, but I prefer to think of the glass being half full.

I think this series is suffering from the "uber character prevents/solves all the series problems" trope. It's still well written, but is getting predictable.
For those of us who are still having trouble with fanfic.net, like me.
