I have a suggestion for the name of the Pony giving Mikoyan directions: Mainstay Haywax. Like all of the Haywax family, Mainstay has very good eyesight and works as an air traffic controller while holding a reserve commission with the Royal Guard. He does not get along with his cousins from outside Stalliongrad, Sentry and Hawkeye Haywax.

Well I know that's a family with more members then that. Wedge Haywax, Tracer Haywax, Mainstay's grandpa/ma Moss. I'm sure others can be extrapolated from the wiki page while also keeping with the ponyfied military aircraft.
