Re: New Fic Recommendation Thread 6

Okay, here's one I stumbled upon over the weekend, and just finished reading: Trimatter's Final Approach Ranma. An interesting blend of the "Ranma comes to
terms with his female side" and "Ranma takes control of his life" subgenres, set in a crossover with Futaba-kun Change using elements
of Final Approach as a setup. Well written for the most part, although the usual fic spelling errors show up with annoying frequency. Big plus:
It's complete, nine chapters and an epilogue. It's been a long time since I came upon a good new story that was complete.
Oh, fair warning: Some limish material, almost verging on lemony, but it's minor and plot-relevant.

I seem to recall I decided to stop reading Trimatter's fics for some reason. Is this fic one which includes an unneccesarily OOC and psychotic Akane?

Actually, no. She's a little petty and immature, but starts making progress on that by the end of the story. I think the phrasing Trimatter uses somewhere
is that she's like a kitten, biting and scratching but without malice. No, the real villains of this piece -- inasfar as there are proper villains
-- are Ranma's parents.

Not a Sailor Moon fic, a Harry Potter fic. What if Voldemort never found the Potters... and won the war. Dumbledore fled abroad and Voldemort rules... Sirius
is a werewolf and Harry Potter is about to enter Hogwarts as run by Bellatrix Lestrange

I have to point out that Rebecca Ann Heineman has written the first chapter of Sailor_Ranko_A_Love_Story.
So far,it's only available on fanfiction.net."There's only one kind of monster that uses bullets"-Colonel VanHeusen , from "It! The Terror From Beyond Space"

Hasn't been updated in a year and a half and seriously AU, but it's still pretty cool. FFX. Focused on Rikku and Auron.

Okay, that's a keeper. It's going on the "read to Peggy" list, near the top.

Wow yeah. I couldn't stop grinning as I read that.
Also would like to rec : http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2707071/1/Butterfly_Effect, a FF7
fic. Cloud finds Vincent as a kid.
Warning: Elements of yaoi in the background, but none involving the main character(thankfully).

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3676671/6/Lengths This is an interesting story. It's the first story that's really brought home to me what it's like to
be Sasuke -- although a female Sasuke in this case. The chapter on the Uchiha massacre is creepy and sad with an element of dawning horror. A little weird
though. Interesting enough if only for chapter ... 6, I believe.

Tivor, by CrazyDan. What if James Potter had been working on a
magical version of TIVO when he'd been killed? And what if Harry had gotten his hands on it as a child?
Yeah, it sounds silly. But it's not. Funny, yes. Silly, no... I mean, how can you not like a story where Harry talks like Don Adams because he accidentally
crammed five years' worth of Get Smart into his head in five minutes?
Incomplete, but so far 14 chapters have been posted in 3 days. Hopefully the author hasn't exhausted his stockpile yet.

*sigh* I'd like it a lot better if the author hadn't contrived a flimsy excuse for certain characters to meet before Hogwarts.

This author has some interesting, if short, fics.
A few naruto shorts and a bleach continuation/au that looks interesting.

I recommend Five Reasons from eminyet. Very thought provoking.
His Soulborn is okay... Hard to tell since it's so early. It does seem to be one of the more interesting Bleach stories.
I liked his earlier Tenipuri fics though even if they're unfinished.

Anything Goes Taijutsu is another Ranma/Naruto crossover. It seems to be written by
someone with a decent grasp of grammar and spelling. The first chapter is just a really unneccesary prologue (most of the information conveyed coudl ahve been
conveyed as the story progesses) but it should be worth checking out the first few chapters at least.

If Only
Naruto and Sasuke stumble across a strange object in the woods. It lets out a sudden burst of power and Naruto is knocked unconscious. He wakes up to find
everything is wrong. Is it genjutsu? A concussion? Hallucinations? Or something else?
and the sequel: Belly of the Beast

Be warned, there's some *minor* Rod/Shep slash tones in this, but even I with my massive anti-slash bias found it inoffensive.
