And it's time to open the latest incarnation of the thread. Sadly, I have nothing to point you at; I'm just staring the thread.

Not new, per se, but it's been a long time since anyone mentioned it here and as of today it is finally complete: The Games We Play by ryuugi (epub version here), a RWBY/The Gamer crossover (at least initially) that heads into some seriously cosmic territory by the end. Synopsis: Jaune Arc wakes up one morning to discover that his Semblance has spontaneously activated -- and it gives him a video game interface to his life. Over the next several months of his life, he will go from an untrained teen wishing to become a Hunter to something long unseen in Remnant.
This is a story filled with Awesome and Win.
The first link I provided above is to a Spacebattles post listing every chapter plus links to lots of supplementary material worth reading.

Shape-Changer is set in almost the Original Star Wars Trilogy and should be read for the last line of the fic.

This one looks pretty good so far. Basically, during the first part of Full Metal Alchemist, Ed loses his ignorance to the Gate, not just his arm and leg. Which means he *starts* the series knowing everything about alchemy he canonically knew at the *end*. The one question not answered is whether this is "original" FMA, or Botherhood.

Alright folks i need some help, i managed to not bookmark a fic and lost it and now i cant seem to find the bloody thing. Also don't know if it was recently mentioned in the last rec file or the last update file set and haven't found it yet there. Its a Naruto fic where at the very begining team seven make a mega seal that allows Naruto to go back in time to when he was four and have a massive redo. only in the dimension he ends up in Dan didn't die, Orochimaru isn't a traitorous dick, Jerihah (sp) did die, and he enrolls in the academy early and graduates within a year making him only the third to have done so right alongside Kakashi and Itachi, oh and Itachi is a girl not an efeminate male.
help please

We should probably have a fanfic search thread, to be honest.
And sticky the latest Update and Recommendations threads.

We've had several iterations of a "what's that fic?" thread before; it's probably time to start another. Stickying the update and recommendation threads is a good idea, too.

So Vathara evidenly has an Ao3 profile, where he puts his chapters up as-written rather than all-at-once-complete like he does on his ff.net profile these days.
http://archiveofourown.org/users/Vathara/pseuds/Vathara
On there he has a fairly good Magi: labyrinth of magic reincarnation fix that has updated recently.

Vathara is a she...assuming her Amazon author profile and various such things are accurate.

This is a fairly good fic, about a d&d "Binder" that ends up in the worm-verse.Its also kept up a fairly consistently high quality and ridiculous update rate.

So you know all those Naruto fics where the civilian council has it in for him, drunken crowds chase and beat him daily and twice on birthdays, everyone except (designated pairing) is an idiotic asshole, Hinata stammers a couple times and then faints if he so much as looks at her (and never anything more unless she's the designated pairing, and still plenty of it at first) and yet somehow everything follows the stations of canon except (designated pairing?)
Forget them.

Naruto Way of the Shining Hand is open and blatant Naruto/Hinata, yes, but handled in a generally realistic way for a couple of kids (with nary a faint to be seen) the rest of Konoha and presumably the world is both intelligent and competent, and while you might hear the canon train whistling far away sometimes if the wind is just right, you can't even see the tracks from here. It's also written with a decent degree of technical competence, even if the first chapter or two might be a bit forced as the author set up the premise. The only thing I can complain about is that Naruto's uneducated-brat speech is distinctly American-style, but that probably matches how it was broadcast as a dub ("Believe it!" is notably absent, however) and that while it got a new chapter a week or so ago, it appears to update quite slowly given that was only the eighth since August 2012 IIRC.
In short, I cannot recommend it strongly enough, among Naruto fanfiction, and it stacks up pretty well overall as well.

Cerulean is an author on Spacebattles who is writing 2 quite popular AU Worm fics, and also has an original story
his stories are:Atonement - Taylor dies in the locker, leading to one of her tormentors, Madison to trigger out of guilt, and has been channeling Spider-man, both in her fighting style and in her extensive use of quip-fu http://forums.spacebattles.com/threads ... au.312449/
Intrepid - a somewhat complicated tale, as the chapters alternate between 4 protagonists (Taylor, Madison, Emma, and Sophia/Shadowstalker), all of whom are members of different groups, and none of whom are aware the others even have powers. many indications that the story diverged from canon years before (many additional capes, canon characters can have different powers and/or be in different teams). For instance, the BBB never unmasked, and Amy/Panacea was adopted by Lady Photon and Manpower. http://forums.spacebattles.com/threads ... au.337516/
and his original fic, Heretical Edge (I haven't gotten into this one yet, so can't describe it) http://ceruleanscrawling.wordpress.com ... -contents/
EDIT: Heretic Edge is an urban fantasy, and is turning out to be as good of a story as the author's fanfics.

Cacophony
This is a Worm quest on Spacebattles. The twist? Instead of canon's bug control powers, Taylor has a different power or power set each day. The players do no directly determine the powers she gets, rather, we vote for songs, and the power is based on the winning song. It occurred to me that this might be of interest to some here.
