I don't know about Stormy, but Ape, well, I've got an idea.
He's a buddist(?) warrior monk, with a staff, goes by Ape, and is apparently someone with a fair sized myth-factor of his own.

In the most recent chapter he's referred to as 'the Sage' and yes, he's Buddhist. Also, it's 'k' not 'l',

I need to see if I ever unpacked my dvd of the crossover. Been years since I watched it (tried to interest local SF&F fan group in a double showing with Spaced Invaders or My Best Friend Is a Vampire, but too many coulrophobics in the group for that to fly.

I know the Chiodos personally and the last two Military Option stories I've done (Not a Creature Was Stirring and Third Ring) have coincidentally been based on their characters. Nepotism I tells ya!
