Fred Saberhagen died yesterday

I'm back my ISP finally got it's act back together just in time for me to discover that one of my favorite writers has died.
Fred Saberhagen died July 3 he was best known for the Science Fiction series "Berserkers" and the Fantasy series "Swords".
Sorry I've not been able to find a link to a Obituary yet. I found out through another favorite writers website.

On the sad/distressing side, some buffoon over at Wikipedia wouldn't allow a change to Saberhagen's bio to include that info.
That aside, I'm saddened by the news. I never met Saberhagen, but I started reading his stuff in high school after I got involved in Flying Buffalo's play-by-mail Starweb game in the middle-late 1970s. I've always enjoyed his work.

After the Chris Benoit situation, I'm certain Wikipedia is just a little overcautious about deaths being reported without official documentation.

The Wikipedia entry is updated with his death.
From what I'm told (hearsay) Wikipedia's being uber-careful about deaths, since they got hit twice recently: once with annoyances after the Vince McMahon fake car-bomb angle, and then the trouble over the Benoit thing.
