Okay..A full Martian year (revolution around the sun) is the equivalent of 687 earth days..roughly a ratio of 1.88. Call it roughly 2 years. Now..that would
explain some of the time anamolies. If the Nagi went over to the Magical world when either the A-bomb deployed or H-bomb was tested (I'd say the 50's
when the H-bomb was tested). Arika was supposedly executed 18 years ago (Martian or Terran?). If its Martian, that would had been 9-10 terrestial years ago.
Around the time that Negi was born. So, Arika's death was faked and the Nagi and her relocated to earth. So what would Asuna's true age be?

Until we hear otherwise, I'm going to assume that Mundus Magicus uses the Earth calendar -- humans there having emigrated from Earth, and remaining in
contact with it. It's possible, maybe even likely, that the Earthlike conditions on MM are maintained by magic -- think about it, we've explicitly been told that MM is smaller than Earth, and yet no one has once mentioned the one-third gravity that should be characteristic of Mars. Maybe seasons are tweaked to Earth standard as well... --Sam "How the hell did I do that?" Quote: Evil Midnight Lurker wrote:That implies terraforming..or is that marsforming? Paru's really good at
the Dun dun DUN! Spirited Away shoutout. So, not Mars, but a created plane based on and from real-Mars. ...Which suggests that magic-canceling the whole planet would erase it entirely. o.O ...could the "Mage of the Beginning" literally be MM's creator? And from dire speculation to a party! Whee! Boggling at Setsuna. ...Stunning confirmation from Jack! Actually, confirmation of anything from Jack is kinda stunning. A bit of bullshit philosophy from Fate. Feh. But wait... he's all adult now! One of those pills, or...? ...Fate vs. Jack? Oh. Hell. Yes. --Sam "Well that guy's nekkid." Quote: Evil Midnight Lurker wrote:Utterly frightening thought. There is a fantasy world created by an individual who used a spellbook containing eight spells. Rincewind's met the Creator of the Discworld. If that was Nagi, he really didn't age well.
...Come to think of it, Chao-lin's pretty much the group's only hope of getting back to class on time... --Sam "Egad! Too much anatomy!"
I think I maybe was being too abtruse.
I'm saying it's a shout out, and that Nagi or Negi is/will be the Mage of the Beginning.
Oh, I got it, I was just being silly. ^.^
And that seems unlikely to me, although Nagi shoryukenning himself is an amusing idea... --Sam "If that's art, then art is dirty and weird!"
Let the pre-battle taunting
begin! So... this is not, in some sense, the original Fate, and "Tertium" is indeed an apropos name. In fact, he may be a clone of the Mage of the Beginning. ...The girls really should have known that was going to happen... Interesting possibilities for Yue here. And we have a full-on catgirl character at last! Jack raises a very good question there... --Sam "Egad! Too much anatomy!"
You'd think by this point Fate's Harem Rush would've taken steps to not get quite so humiliated. On the other hand, had they worn pants he probably
would've stolen those too. - Grumpy Uncle Gearhead
Are you sure Jack wasn't one of Happosai's students? Or Chamo for that matter?

Hard to say.
The pervy part of it seems to be more an affectation to throw them off balance, with Happosai it seemed to fuel him. - Grumpy Uncle Gearhead
Is it just me, or is Fate starting to look like some kind of homage to Ayanami Rei?
-- Bob --------- Then the horns kicked in... ...and my shoes began to squeak. Quote: Is it just me, or is Fate starting to look like some kind of homage to Ayanami Rei?I don't know about your looks... More seriously, it seems to be a requirement nowadays for one of the characters in an anime or manga to look liek Rei. I'm not surprised that Fate is taking that spot in Negima - the girls have their own, well-defined looks, and the "Rei" is almost never the main character. That leaves Fate or Jack, and Jack's a bruiser. -- Rob Kelk "Governments have no right to question the loyalty of those who oppose them. An
interesting selection of powers Fate's girls have. Very... elemental, in an RPG definition of the term. ...Well that didn't take long. And I can already see the gag-sub bonus page Aquastar will make of that victory pose if they ever get that far... o.O; ...He sends war orphans... to school...? Why am I having volume-3 Chachamaru flashbacks? And that right there is one telling statement. He knows the plan is stupid. But he doesn't believe he has a choice. DANGER! DANCE CARD APOCALYPSE IMMINENT! And darnit, this dance is a WASTED MOMENT OF AWESOME. ...If that's not a trope, it should be. Those adventurers clean up real good. What the hell is Godel up to? We'll have to wait two weeks for our next chance at finding out. >.
"All the actors are asembled" No, they're not. There's at least two missing...

Ku Fei is an amazon!. Negi is as bad as Ranma when presented a challenge. And what a challenge! __________________ Into terror!, Into valour! Charge ahead! No! Never turn Yes, it's into the fire we fly And the devil will burn! - Scarlett Pimpernell
Poor Natsumi ...
Chris Davies.
...did Ku Fei just get the freakin' Compliant Golden-Hooped Rod?! o.O;
--Sam "You will call me the Great Sage, Equal to Heaven!"
She got the Monkey King's rod! Does this mean it can extend and shrink at will?

At a guess, it's the staff of Monkey from Journey to the West, who I like to refer to as the patron god of munchkins. As you could probably guess from
that, it's a ridulously powerful weapon.
The CGHP (which, admittedly, is not the name of Ku Fei's staff) is the staff wielded by Sun Wu-k'ung, the Stone Monkey, known as Songoku in Japanese
translations of Journey to the West. The wielder of the staff (which amounts to "only Monkey," since no one else can handle it) can alter its size and mass at will, from as small as a toothpick to a miles-high monstrosity. In Dragonball, a version shows up as Goku's Nyoi-bo staff. --Sam "I will now lower you into my pit of man-eating alligators and cows!" |
