Not as good as Casino Royale. Worth the price of admission. Very much in the new Bond style, with brutal fight scenes, an effective "who can you
trust" plot line and a few nice twists. Nice Goldfinger homage as well.

I liked it. It kinda depends on what you're after in a Bond film. This was very much more a straight-ahead action movie. In fact, since it follows directly
on from the plot of Casino Royale, you -could- almost think of them both as one very long James Bond film, aside from obvious differences in directorial style
and such.

Speaking of which, although I liked most of the action scenes in the movie, I have a near-rant based on at least two of the fights in the movie - could someone
PLEASE tell Hollywood that "shaky-cam" is GOD DAMN OVER-FUCKING DONE????

I. AM. SICK. OF. SHAKY-CAM!

I don't blame whoever first thought of the idea. I blame all the people who came after that have shoved it in our faces and driven it into the fucking
ground! These people should be SHOT in the spine and left on anthills to DIE as a warning to the next TEN GENERATIONS of movie directors!

Uh, yeah. Okay, more like a full rant after all. I feel better now.

I have no idea how Cloverfield ends. Half an hour in, I ran out needing to throw up. For just this reason.Brazil has decided you're cute.

I didn't even bother to go see Cloverfeild, and that was part of the reason.

There must be something genetic about this. I have friends who always feel motion sick when they watch shaky-cam, whereas I (and a few other people I knw)
have no problem following shaky-cam at all. Maybe its similar to vertigo ro fear of hieghts?

I have a similar problem playing Doom style 3D games (which means that I can't play most modern games). I get dizzy, feverish, headachy, and
nauseous from as little as five minutes playing one of them.

Yeah, when I get the urge to play an FPS I have to turn off "head bob" every time.

You can follow shaky-cam? What sorcery is this? :o

Kidding aside I found QoS's shakycam to be mild (because I still could make out in a general sense what was happening on the screen) compared to some other
flicks i've seen.

Indeed, it was mild. And that's why I felt it didn't outright ruin those scenes. But... It's just starting to Get. On. My. NERVES. That's all.

If you REALLY want a rant, get me started on the Ang Lee Hulk!

Ang Lee's Hulk is two hours of Ang Lee sitting behind you in the theater and saying, "Hey, did you know this came from a comic book?" over and
over again. That's all I have to say about it.

As for Quantum, I saw it last night. It's not bad, but I think it lost momentum in the last 20 minutes. The denouement of Greene's Evil Plan and the
big fight at the end felt ... dull. I think they're setting up for a third movie with Quantum, and didn't do a particularly good job of setting up the
hook. They set it up, but it was about halfway through the film, and they didn't reinforce it at the end of the movie. I suppose that the director might
think we're smarter than that, but I can't say.

I will say that I have this urge to go see "Tosca." But only if I could see that production. It looked interesting.
