Take Tali and Garrus with you to the Citadel and walk around a bit. Hilarity Ensues. And while you _could_ only go to the citadel once, chances are you'll be running back and forth a few times just to get the credits for everything(and if you're starting with an imported character, it's a good thing to get there and buy some damage upgrades early).

So, I had been hearing about this "Widow" sniper rifle for awhile now.
Somehow I never acquired it on my Vanguard playthrough (Lora Shepard) .
Not that it would've been all THAT useful for a Vanguard, considering
the playstyle. So I wasn't too put out to just have the Viper, which, if
I really NEEDED to snipe something, would be forgiving of missed shots
because of the ammo load.
This time, Sassinak Shepard is on the
Collector ship for the first time, with Mordin and Tali. And what do
I get offered? The Widow. Sassinak is a soldier. I've got maxed out
Adrenaline Rush AND Combat Mastery (Shock Trooper) and I've been using
AR as an easy way to go for headshots, etc.
"Hmm... Only 13
Ammo? The Viper had 60. Oh well. Let's see what this thing can do, holy
CRAP it's huge. Good thing Sass has all that extra muscle weave and
carbon fiber lacing her bones."
First chance I have to use the
thing is on the Platforms. This part of the fight always makes me
nervous. Limited areas to go. Gotta watch the firing angles. This was
hell on my Vanguard.
Well here comes Harbinger,
"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL"
So Sass unlimbers the Widow, triggers
Adrenaline Rush, lines up a head shot on Harbinger just as Tali
unleashes a tech drone and Mordin gives him a Flame burst.
"YOU
WILL FEEL PAIN, SHE... "
!!!BOOM!!!
Poof.
No more Harbinger.
*cue Robocop* "I LIKE IT!!!!!"
So
goes the next few minutes, past the platforms, making our way back to
the shuttle -
"PRESERVE SHEPARD'S BODY IF PO..."
!!!BOOM!!!
"IF I MUST TEAR YOU AP..."

!!!BOOM!!!

"FOCUS ON SHE..."

!!!BOOM!!!

"I KNOW YOU FEE..."
!!!BOOM!!!
"STOP INTERRUPTING WHEN I'M TAU..."
!!!BOOM!!!
"NOW CUT
THAT..."
!!!BOOM!!!
"SHEPARD,
YOU ARE DOING THAT ON PUR..."
!!!BOOM!!!
Mordin: "Detecting
distinct lack of seriousness?"
Tali: "Shepard, Please do not
taunt the ancient homicidal avatar of machine directed entropy?"
Sass: *Grins
and lines up another headshot* "To quote my bud Garrus, 'Scoped and
dropped!"
!!!BOOM!!!

Isn't it nice that adrenaline rush has an un-noted +100% damage modifier? (140% if you take heightened). Still wish the widow has more ammo though. Went with LMG on the soldier myself, since it's the only class that can get it.

(Basically if the class you pick starts with being able to use a shotgun, sniper rifle or assault rifle, you can pick up the upgraded version in the collector ship. If they can't, then you can get training to use any of the three.)

Finally since this is obviously your second playthrough:

A mass effect 2 editor. Because do you _really_ want to probe the planets all over again?

Also, love the name. Brings back memories.

Y'know I could've used a heads-up on the fact that the Firewalker DLC pack was available. I've been putting off going to get the Reaper IFF Beacon until I'd got it. And wouldn't you know it, it came out last Tuesday, with more clothes for Jack (huh they want to put her in more clothes? Ain't she the chainmail g-string bikini character?). Damn all that time playing C&C4, DOW2:Chaos, Star Ocean 4 & Dragon Age when I could've been NOE buzzing some Geth! Damn speed cap.

Oh sweet, thanks for the savegame editor, s3yang. Yeah, I'd rather not have to probe Uranus again. *wink*

The Firewalker DLC is remarkably meh. And the clothes bit is actually purchased dlc. I just hope the Kasumi DLC character is a full character, Zaeed was cool and all but..... really, would 15 more minutes of dialogue and a conversation tree killed them?

By the way anyone follow Cerberus daily news? It's pretty amusing.

For the record: http://www.cerberusdailynews.com/

The site above archives all the daily news bits, what's even more amusing is that the comments are all 'in character' and seems to be moderated.

Saw this on the Cerberus Daily News:
Today,
04/01/2010 - Planet DC1938 Explodes After Core Fusion
“DC1938, a
small garden world circling the red supergiant SM2183 Rua, exploded
today in a rare phenomenon called core fusion. The planet's uranium core
collapsed in on itself, igniting a thermonuclear explosion large enough
to rupture the planet into several pieces. The shock wave and loss of
atmosphere has reportedly killed more than five billion native
inhabitants. There is one known survivor: an infant rocketed from the
planet in an FTL escape pod picked up by the human cruiser MSV Kent. The
inhabitants of the planet, previously unknown to the galaxy, were a
spacefaring race who used crystalline matrices for their computing
needs. The infant has been taken to medical facilities in the local
cluster, where he is breathing gases in a ratio similar to the
atmosphere of his home planet: 65% nitrogen, 20% oxygen, and 15%
krypton.”

Bioware seems to have a fondness for superman. There's a little easter egg in Dragon age for it if you get the DLC too.

Which one, I know there's definably one in the Kasumi DLC, which is pretty darn short and proves why a fuel stop was added near the Citadel. It also has a Planet of the Apes call out. Actually the entire Kasumi DLC is more a display of just how to use her powers and that powerset.

I'm very fond of Kasumi, but I'm a fan of cyberpunk aspects to begin with, and Kasumi's DLC has them in spades.

But dear lord in heaven, the SMG you get from it is a thing of beauty and wonder.
