iPod Touch help!

Exactly what it says on the tin. My month old, practically brand new latest model iPod Touch is acting weird. Around 10 o'clock today, I touched the sleep button to turn it off for a while, and when I tried to turn it on again, nothing happened. It still have about 50 perecnt of its charge at the time, so it's not a battery problem. Now, more than 13 hours alter, it still won't turn on. This has happened before, and I was able to turn it on again about 12 hours later, but frankly I'm concerned. I haven't backed it up recently. Anyone know what this could be about? Have you heard of this happening to anyone else?

SCM, try plugging it into your computer an letting it sync with iTunes. I once had a similar problem with my iPhone and that cleared it up.
If it will connect to your computer, but still exhibits the same behavior, try the "Restore" option.
Otherwise, like Wiredgeek said, get it replaced under warranty.

Doesn't respond when i plug it in, either by registering on the computer or lighting up in any way.
To clarify, the darned thing doesn't want to turn on, by any means!
Last hope: that sleeping with it under my pillows fixes it again like last time.

Does it charge when plugged into the wall wart? or is the failure to respond only a computer thing?
When plugging it into the computer is it plugged into the computer directly, or through a hub? Some hubs can be rather lenient about their voltages, and I've found that apple products can be finicky about not responding to non-standard voltages.
Make a backup if you can, but even if you can't, I'll echo the others here and say take it in for warranty replacement.

This might be the first place you tried, here is the first result I got when I searched.
I typed in "Ipod touch won't turn on" in a search and was sent to the below link.
I'd recommend you use a more complete list of symptoms and do your own search.

I ran into this at one point on my old iPhone 3G, and entertainingly, the instructions are included.
They're stored in a digital format on the device.
So, the instructions you need to know how to troubleshoot it....are only available if the device is working properly.

I just got my first Touch, five days ago.
The stuff in the box does tell you where to find the guide online, or I'd be just as frustrated. I figure the on-the-Touch version is so you can practice as you read, or to make it nigh-impossible to lose the manual.

Well if it's like my iPad, the instructions are both a bookmark in safari and a ebook in iBook.
Still all a this could be down to one thing: all iPxd devices should have a complete power cycle regularly performed on them. So that means if you just been sleeping it, you need to actually do a complete power down. That's hold that button down till the red power off slider comes on the screen.
