I've been gone for a while, and I apologize. But, for those of you who are really gluttons for punishment, Pret-a-3D has released Reality 2.0 .

And it supports Daz 4. So, when I have the money, I'll be getting Daz 4 advanced.

It's just over half-price until the end of January, unless you've bought Reality in the past, then it's only twenty bucks.

Curse you Pret-a-3D. Curse you to the same place we curse Stonemason .

I must be a glutton for punishment... or some part of me thinks there are 36 hours in a day.
I am currently responsible for maintaining these lists of free Poser/Daz Studio resources:
(The lists for Aiko, Genesis, and Kururu start off with links to where to find the characters for legal free download.)

If anybody knows of any appropriate freebies that I've missed on any of those lists, please let me know where to find them...

I'm liking the Genesis figure . . . mostly. Can't wait to see if they'll do an A3-fit pack like they did David3. That would be awesome. I have SCADS of stuff for A3 that I don't get to use anymore.
I mean, I'm sure I shouldn't have access to the Genesis Figure. I've done bad things with R2 and a Dalek . . . so, why wouldn't I do something like this:
 ![[Image: TrollinSuitJ.jpg]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v341/HandofBobb/Mark%20Skarr/TrollinSuitJ.jpg)
(sure, there's some pokethru, but this was a fast render)

Any votes for a Santa's Helper Troll?

I know I can still use them. But, since they stopped supporting A3, there's nothing new. Also, A3's stuff doesn't work with A4/V4. I'm fighting M2 stuff going on an M4 figure. I'll still use A3 from time to time, but she doesn't look nearly as good as V4. Hopefully, someone will make an A3 to Genesis pack like this one for David3. I have some really awesome outfits for A3 that would look great, if they'd fit to a modern figure.

That's the advantage of the Genesis model. That suit the Troll is wearing is an M4 suit. The Santa's "Little" Helper monstrosity is wearing a V4 mini-dress. (Warning: observing linked image may require the surgical removal of your eyes and memory cortex. Even 'Waved Brain Bleach isn't that strong.)

Official support for A3 may be lacking, but there's still some fan support. This is only four days old, for example:http://www.sharecg.com/v/...Suit-For-Aiko-3-by-d-jpp
Edit: Oh, yes - since you're using Genesis, you might be interested in the 20% off coupon for "Popular Genesis Content" products on http://shop.daz3d.com/?post_type=landing_page&p=1767 (coupon code and link to list of products are in the third section from the bottom).

Oh, yes. I've already blown about $200 at Daz in the past couple of days, but Genesis is running into the same problem that V4 did: there's squat out for Genesis at the moment. On top of that, the base face and few characters that are out are scary . They're trying to be hawt and sexy, but they're really coming off as terrifying. Being able to use about 80% of V4 and M4's stuff is cool, but since the Genesis figure is unattractive, I can't do much with it at the moment.

As soon as Freja, Rebelmommy, Sarsa and Thorne start making some characters (I did see Princess , and I'll be getting her soon), Genesis'll see a lot more use from me. If I could load the V4 characters I have in my runtime, I'd be very, very happy. I'm kinda cheesed that, with all the work they did to conform V4 outfits to Genesis they didn't go that extra step. I wouldn't be surprised, if it's allowed, to see one of the listed artists create a tool so they don't have to go back over all the ground they've already covered, and could still earn income from their existing work.

Between that and the fact that the AutoFit tool only works on Genesis, unlike the AutoFit tool from Studio 3, means that I'll be using Studio 3 for a while longer still. Don't get me wrong, that autofit for Genesis is amazing , but, if I can't get an outfit to conform better to V4, I can't use her in Studio 4. So, Studio 3 will stay on my hard drive, and pinned to my start menu.

According to http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=180518]the Daz3D forums thread about the character , they're Hot Uniforms Teacher by Pretty3D at Daz3d and Martini Nights hair by Bice/outoftouch at Renderosity, respectively.

Also according to that thread, there's a slight problem with the installer for the Genesis version of Manami, so buy her now while she's on sale but reset the download later this week once the fixed installer is available.
Edit: The fixed installer's available, so you should reset your download now...

There was a bit of a bobble with the vouchers from the Platinum Club event last year - they were supposed to be available in time for last month's sale, but the largest ones were only delivered today. So Daz3D has put everything that was on sale last month back on sale until the 9th.
(I went and got Farrah Hair and its expansion. I'm ready for '80s-style renders now! )

And:
Quote:Oh... and there was a coupon for Genesis content so we created a new one.
BiGSlReduxGen 20 percent off one order of DAZ Original Genesis items

I don't know whether that'll work for everyone or just for Platinum Club members, but if you're going to get some Genesis content this week, it's worth a try...

I believe the download is for the figure/bodyshape only. That's the trouble with ads: You'll rarely see anything shown that isn't a fully complete and posed character, but the product their selling is only one bit of the product their showing. Read the "What's included" section on the store page to see how much they've added, and how much you get.---

The download is the character only; you need to buy the clothing, hair, and glasses separately.
Changing topic slightly ... Coupons for the Daz3D store, reusable and good until January 31. Minimum $35 purchase before coupon (and after Platinum Club discount). http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=180763
