Real... real hair... omfg.

This would have to be really flippin' expensive for me NOT to buy it.

Before I lose track of this prop yet again... This one's very carefully not called "Arrietty's Hairclip"

It's designed to work with Studio Maya's "50's PonyTail"

I see that there's http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/song ... item=14192, half-price until Monday on the DAZ3D website.

(What? Knight Sabers? Of course not! Everybody in the hobby knows what "it's Audubon's birthday" means - something new for Songbird Remix!)

Do you use Sketchup? Is there something in the warehouse you've been thinking of getting later? I suggest that "later" is "now"... because Google just sold Sketchup.

The weekly Daz3D newsletter includes a "Cinco de Mayo Voucher" – enter voucher code C1nc0DM4yo2012 and receive a $2.50 voucher, good until 5/7/12 at Midnight (MST).

(They're in the USA - that's probably May 7, not 5 July.)

That, plus my PC voucher, plus the fact that the item's on sale, got me Anderson Hall for $11.48 instead of $39.99...

Back up your Daz3D purchase history and wishlist - their new store and forums go live on Wednesday.

Edit: Correction: The current store and forum go away at Noon (Utah time) Wednesday. The new store should be up quickly after that. The new forums will be up on Thursday.

Purchase history backed up, wishlist backed up, free resources lists updated and backed up... I'm ready.

I haven't bothered backing up my purchase history... I still have a lot of my installers packed away, and I backup my whole content directory on a regular basis anyway. I have backed up the wishlist, though, in case that doesn't survive.

Has anyone considered uploading some of their design work to Shapeways and having it printed? Might make for some interesting miniatures.

It looks like it came through all right, actually. I'll give it a few days to settle in and products to get converted before I think about getting their installer plugin.

It means I won't be tempted by the FastGrab for a while... at least until they reimplement it. Tongue

If it had a pilot's seat, controls, an access hatch somewhere, and some sort of propulsion at the back (jet or screw), I'd pay $10-$15 for it.

(Maybe it already has a hatch and a propulsion system; I can't tell from this angle...)

Wow - somebody's providing a bit of support for Kururu... and Sera... and ChibiBel. (I'm not surprised that support for Aiko 3 is also provided - she's always had a steady following.) And it's a "cosplay" hairdo, too.

The Daz3D forums are finally running... with many, many bumps in the road. But they're sufficiently active for me to post my Free Resources lists there. Here are the new URLs.

Free Resources for Characters: (No, I'm not maintaining the Genesis Free Resources list any more. It's too big a time-sink; I was spending more time on it than on all the other lists combined, including the brand-new ChibiBel list.)

I can't spend much time in the DAZ forum right now... it's got a couple of major deal-killer flaws in it right now for me. Not sorting threads by "last post date", and not allowing me to get to the "posts I haven't read" in a given thread.

They should've done the store first, gotten that running, then tackled the forum. This... whoever said it all needs to be swapped out at once needs to be taken outside and subjected to a Narn Bat Squad. Yes, I can understand that it was all possibly running on the same broken engine, and that broken "takes all the resources just to keep it upright" engine might well have precluded a partial swap, but it's still very painful, and getting worse all the time.

I like Genesis very much as technology, but I have to wonder if it's going to get orphaned at the rate things are going over there. Not that I used the forum much except for the last, um, six months. Tongue

I hear what you're saying - the only reason I'm there now is because I promised chohole I'd re-post the freebies lists as soon as I knew the forum was back up. I'm only reading the Freepozitory forum and the Star Trek thread in The Commons; the rest will have to wait until it's out of beta.

Yeah, I've only really been watching the "Forum Issues" thread over there, it's like watching a train wreck in progress. If there isn't significant movement soon, I fear they're going to start actually losing customers. There's at least one person that keeps screaming, "give me a response that you've even SEEN my request to delete my credit card info", and I suspect they're going to have to go to their bank and reissue their credit card just on principle, and even if not, the time of response may mean they're going to decide that DAZ isn't worth any risk to purchase from...

I mean, I prefer the DAZStudio interface to that of Poser, and as I've noted, I've been seriously enamored with the promise of Genesis... but this is on top of the current schism developing in the 3d figure community over that "Genesis allowed is not" regarding Poser support (not that I blame Smith Micro for that, it's a business decision for them to not fully support the technology right now, but there was a brief period of Poser users yelling about wanting a new Victoria in Poser, or at least clothes being made by the creators.)

The second one's partially fixed - email notifications now take one to the first unread post, but there's still no way to do that from the forum web interface.

Baby steps, baby steps... but steps nonetheless.

(Although it would be nice if I could get at my wishlist...)

I don't seem to have issues with my wishlist... but my Platinum Membership dropped renewal. So I went ahead and filed a support ticket for that.
