RIP "Stompin' Tom" Connors

For those of you who aren't lucky enough to be Canadian, Stompin' Tom wrote and performed songs about the country and its people. Hundreds of songs. (He was sort of like Woodie Guthrie, but usually more upbeat.)

And he'd stop the tour bus to pick up hitchhikers, because he always remembered when he was a hitchhiker.

He died yesterday...

I heard about this earlier today on NPR. You guys have my sympathies - artists like him are a rare and dying breed.
