Three to five fluffy inches predicted for the greater Boston area, and it's being treated like a major disaster. S'what I get for moving south to Massachusetts, I guess. Buncha pussies. They wouldn't have even cancelled school for this in Vermont or New Hampshire, let alone made a major hue and cry, and don't even mention it in Maine.--

Taking a look at the Weather Network's website right now for Niagara. According to it, the outside temperature is - 15 Celsius with a windchill of - 22. We're back into it again . . .!

Well. Looks like we got maybe 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cm) instead of the 14 the mayor of New York and the weather reports were going on about. But it is bitterly cold out there.
Oh, and I did something to my back clearing my mother-in-law's drive so I could get to work. Fun fun fun.

		Snowmaggeddon in Birmingham AL
It started snowing at around 1030. A city with no snow removal equipment or materials. People who never had to drive in the snow all their life. You had people sliding all over the place or stopped in place with eye wide open terror because the wheels are spinning (well, one of you get out and push!). or worse..
 ![[Image: snowmageddon_zps90b96897.jpg]](http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk173/ordnance11/snowmageddon_zps90b96897.jpg)
Battery died. She was lucky there was an Autozone store and an employee willing to drag the battery 1 mile out in the snow. Finally had to buy an ice scraper and stock up on food and candles. At least if the power is out, it may be cold but I won't go hungry.

My brother found an imgur album with a bunch of pictures of the Birmingham Snowmaggeddon. 10+ car pileup on a highway, cars in ditches, cars upside down  in ditches, a car-bacue... Link here .

We got off lightly with the last storm -- half-inch at most. But the high today is only 20-25F, not that it's reached it yet. And tonight is back down in the single digits. But it looks like the NJ/NY area is going back to seasonal temperatures over the weekend, if the forecasts are accurate.-- Bob

Storm appears to be tapering off in our area. Looks like I'll be going out in an hour to snowblow our driveway. As the sun sets. Otherwise I'll have 8 inches of ice tomorrow.-- Bob

We got about the same in rain.
Add some wind. Throw in some high tides, and deal with a lot of damage along the coasts especially. And also on the road I drive to work. I suppose it being called the 'River Road' should've been a clue about its floodability.
