When Living Room Games attended the first big convention, after releasing Earthdawn 2nd Ed, someone asked us how to be successful. Our CFO immediately answered: "Don't quit your day job."

Heh. I can so confirm this. I make like 25 to 50 cents on a book, and that's because I had a history with SJG and they knew I was dependable and did good work, so I got a good royalty rate. That means on a typical print run, I made a couple to a few thousand dollars max. And most of that in the first two quarters. These days, I can get a good meal at McDonald's with my royalty check -- when I have enough banked up to get a check at all.

You got paid, Bob. I got stock and voting input on the company's business. I'm not sure if you didn't get the better deal. Smile
