Regardless of his politics and his stance of many social issues, the Reverend Graham did care for people. May he rest in peace and enjoy his heavenly reward.

Rev. Billy Graham was a desegregationist in the South before it was legally required - that's enough to earn my respect.

It is my sad duty to report the loss of the great Stephen William Hawking at the age of 76.

Stephen Hawking taught us that there is no such thing as a preferential reference frame for time. Every thing that will ever, has ever or does ever exist does not cease. His chain of being, the particular arrangement of molecules will have always existed. He is beyond the light cone of our perceptions, but he will always be there and his words will always be traveling forever outward, spreading and attenuating through the cosmos until time itself stops.

Fifty-five years ago, when his illness was diagnosed, Stephen Hawking was told he had two years to live.  He pulled off an awesome Magic Countdown.

Considering that one dictionary definition of "carry on" is to "behave or speak in a foolish, excited, or improper manner," the designers of that famous poster, "Keep Calm and Carry On," need to make up their flippin' minds!

Somehow, it is fitting that such a great mathematical mind passed on 03.14.

Let us all have a slice in his memory.
Hear that thunder rolling till it seems to rock the sky?
Thats' every ship in Grayson's Navy taking up the cry!

Not the Bozo, but a Bozo. Someone named Alan W. Livingston created the character in the 1940s, but Pinto Colvig -- probably better known now as the voice of Pluto and Goofy for Disney -- actually portrayed him. Larry Harmon, often (mis-)credited as "the original" Bozo, bought the rights off Livingston and then franchised the character to local TV stations, as well as creating a syndicated show marketed to those stations not making their own Bozo program. Frank Avruch was the (first) local Boston Bozo. (Willard Scott was the Washington DC Bozo for three years, which led right into his gig as the first Ronald McDonald.)

Sorry, I've just seen so many obits for "the original Bozo" over the years that I finally had to clarify.
