There's, you know, circumstances about older-Ryoga that are major spoilers to explain... but in the most direct sense, no, Ranma pretty much falls backward into it not unlike Shirou. The castle is on fire and it's not his fault, but that won't stop him from using the heat for a final attack, to mix in a different character's meme entirely.
...and now I want to see a Dresden Files/Ranma crossover, because fridge logic says that's a much less cracky combination than it looks at a glance.
