Wait, what?
12-12-2019, 09:12 PM
I'm in a not-so-sweet spot here, seeing a response without knowing what's being responded to.
Exactly what is DMM reacting to in this tweet?
(From the one name that I do recognize, I know this thread belongs here, not in genchat...)

It was against Time's Man of the Year, Greta Thunburg.
Also, it was a child heavily involved in international politics so it's really just gauche, not completely out of bounds. And Trump is America's main gauche.
She seemed to take it in stride, at least.

Greta thrunberg got TIME Person of the Year, a great honour that misses the entire point of her speeches ("I'm not old enough to vote a d don't have the authority to make policy. You're both, so stop with empty platitudes and DO SOMETHING.")
Donald Trump, being a hate filled piece of shit, and jealous over her getting accolades he thinks he deserves, proceeded to be his usual horrible self on Twitter.

And makes his supporters admire him even more ... which should confirm something about them for all the decent rest of us.
Quote:But the real question, as is so often the case where Trump is concerned, is why would the most powerful man in the world stoop to doing the things he does? One answer, at least judging by the reaction to his tweet on Thursday, is that his always-loyal base applauds him when he indulges his basest impulses. “Haha,” one of his supporters responded. “Trump is awesome. You have to love his sense of humor.” And that may be the most depressing thing of all.

There really aren't many undecided voters left in the United States. The poll numbers for impeachment are only a couple points away from the disapproval numbers. Aside from the bump just after taking office, Trump's approval number hit a ceiling a long time ago. Everyone has already taken sides, and the next election is going to be a voter turnout contest only.

And here I thought it'd be a Gerrymandering contest
I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed.
One day they're going to ban them.

Oh, random extra note. Greta didn't win. The HK protesters did. But giving it to them was politically inconvenient, so Greta got it... Proving her point about empty words and titles instead of action.

I WAS going to ignore this thread, much as i have been ignoring the lot of you for a while now being as you can't seem to get off the idea that "Orange Man Bad"
You lost, get over it!
but honestly THIS is the greatest point of this entire matter because it is so true
Greta, your a 16 year old idiot who has been fed a steady stream of leftist propaganda by your parents and have been used as a pawn in their game you should not be saying "How Dare You" to the UN, you should be saying it to your parents. You were right, you should have been in school actually learning the facts of living, not their socialist eco-bullshit. Now go home, grow up and try to be a productive member of society.
Yall have a nice day

Rajvik, how many times have we told you this now?
Greta Thunburg's statements on this matter are supported by science.
Yours are not.

It's not even about her anyway, or her politics or whether they're factually correct, it's about a theoretically adult man throwing a fit because an adolescent got something he wanted. If it was some dude in a Dunkin flipping his lid because the last jelly donut was gone it'd be the same thing, except that due to who's involved it's on the world stage and multiplied again by being a head of state versus an individual with no rank or position except that the newsies like talking about her.

Rob, your arguments are supported by scientists who are human and thus capable of error, mine are notable by both historical data and the FACT that the claims that these same scientists you claim are correct have been horrendously wrong for better than 30 years. According to the 1988 ICCC report i should be living underwater, i'm not, so thus they are disproven.
Classicdrogn, no it isnt, it's about a set of parents who have brainwashed and used THEIR CHILD as a political pawn because their beliefs cannot stand up to the light of reality. It's that the left, being so weak in their argument has to USE a CHILD to make the argument so that anyone who argues against them is either seen as or can be portrayed as a BULLY is quite frankly pathetic.
as I said, she should be saying HOW DARE YOU to her PARENTS

Rajvik, It doesn't matter if her parents sent her into the Dunkin to pick up the donuts, the dude getting loud because he didn't get the last jelly is still making a shameful display.
I'm not even going to argue about the climate issues, since you dismiss any evidence presented anyway and I don't have Epsilon's patience to walk it through one tiny, thoroughly proven step at a time.

Honestly Drogn, i'm glad, because i don't have the patience to argue the FACT that i am not having to use a scuba rig to sit at my dining room table and type this. When the facts of reality disprove the models that are thrown out repeatedly, maybe it's time to check the assumptions that you're making those prediction on.
also, your analogy sucks, this is not simply someone being pissy about not getting the last jelly, this is the fact that someone has the BALLS to call out a PAWN AS A PAWN.

I think the really sad part is that for all he mocks everyone else, he's consistently been the biggest snowflake in the world, going all the way back to his racist landlord scumbag days.

What does this even mean? I could argue the same thing about 2018: you lost the House, Democrats want to impeach, get over it. But it's still not an argument. Are you saying we need to get over the idea of minority representation?

invalid model you say? Could it, just perhaps have something to do with changing the inputs leading to different outputs?

The paper linked in the column is paywalled as far as I can tell, which is frustrating because it is probably at least mildly interesting.
Rest assured that if there was some point that could be argued against in the column that the Canadian Energy Centre, formerly known as the 'War Room', recently set up by the current Alberta Government would be jumping up and waving their arms about it if nobody else was.

When in doubt, blame it on sour grapes over a controversial election.
In other news, we're about to have the hottest week in Australian history. I'm keeping my bug-out bag on hand.
