I tend tend to season it with a few extra syllables myself, like Bugs Bunny anointing the Sheriff of Nottingham "Sir Loin of Beef, Earl of Woosta-soosta-soosta-sheer!"

If you leave the "shire" out entirely, then you only have a one-syllable word.

Pronounce it something like the name of the guy Jeeves works for: "worcester" ("woost") is the first syllable, and "shire" ("sher") is the second. So, yeah, Bugs is adding all those extra syllables in the middle of the word.

There's a by-election going on near where I live.

Somebody thought he had a good idea... then discovered the candidates are being listed alphabetically by family name:

Yes, that's a plastic bag that the gull is entangled in.
Quote:"But the ironic thing is when [the gull] hit the water, the bag actually filled up with water. It kind of saved him in the long-run, because the bald eagle couldn't lift the seagull and the bag full of water."

The birds struggled for a few moments, until the seagull was able to free itself from both its captors, [photographer Michael] Winsor said. The bag itself remained floating in the lake, an environmental booby trap for another day.

Last image cat: "I am shocked and appalled at the presence of kitten purrnography in this distinguished publiCATion!"

I guess photojouno cat has been too distracted worrying about Aunt Nyan since she went to outer space as the Herald for Galactus to get good shots of Spidertom lately... or perhaps it's just that JJ is taking a long delayed trip to his Australian vacation home?

M. Cat Shyamalamadingdong: "What a twist!"

But anyway, on that theme:

In one of therse threads a couple years back, I posted a DeviantArt image of the Ghostbusters' Ecto-1 turned into a trasnfromer. It was pretty cool, and I and many others said it would be neat to be able to get it as a toy.

Well call up the ghost of Robin Williams for a big mwuh-mwuh fake kiss and a thank you, because that wish has been granted.

It's expected in stock any day now, in fact.

Of course, people who watch television or movie stuff probably already knew about it, but I hadn't heard...

Wait a minute... that has to be fake. The "atrracted to" list doesn't mention roadrunners.

Storm blowing through. Loads of warnings about not going to the coast or making unnecessary and shit. Guess what I did.

Got to wait for the slides to be done first - but my phone will do for now.

I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed.

One day they're going to ban them.

Not like the real fliers that police departments put out, the ones that also warn about Acme packages and rollerskates...

And no, I'm not joking. We've had a few of them posted in these threads before. It seems every jurisdiction that has a real coyote problem eventually produces their own version of a stock joke warning that's been circulating for years.

Anyway, the real reason I was replying was to say that I love the stuff by Obvious Plant (if you didn't notice, his/her/their/its logo is at the bottom). They do some wonderfully audacious stuff.

Something that old has to be a barrel-loader. Tamp it down properly or you'll get odd, almost magical, side-effects!
