The Next Frontier (Kerbal Space Program/Something*)

The Kerbin have discovered FTL travel. Will Jeb get to see a planet of pink skinned space-babes? Will they survive the boredom of travel. Will they upset the sponsors back home with their blog entries?

*The author has made the decision to leave the crossover unstated in the title even after it was revealed saying that he'd like it to remain a surprise for new readers.** Missing link? FNORD What missing link? FNORD

Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer.

Not only has he watched it, he also inspired me to watch it. And maybe write something.
There's not very much Log Horizon fanfiction yet... but perhaps there should be.

"V, did you do something foolish?"
"Yes, and it was glorious."

I've been watching it. It's very interesting world building. A question - what's more human - an NPC who is born, has children, grows old, and dies when he's killed, or a PC who comes out of nowhere, possesses superhuman abilities and rezzes in the cathedral when he's killed?
The big "battle" in the latest episode was a buisness negotiation.

For those who want to read ahead for purposes of fanfic-worldbuilding, the Log Horizon light novels are available in translation on baka-tsuki.

The real questions is how much war crimes apologism Vathara will cram into it! I can't wait to find out!

Fate Revelation Online. It's a Fate/Stay Night / Sword Art Online crossover where Kayaba Akihikois a magus using SAO as a thaumatology teaching tool.
And the Clock Tower would be extremely unhappy at the thought of thousands of new magi.

#37
Well of course they would - an organization of magi that big would probably rival the Clocktower's own membership, and the culture of sharing discoveries and openly used power is antithetical to the traditional mage associations. It's a shame Nasu metaphysics are set up to make shared Mysteries lose potency, but I suppose a properly pragmatic magus would see setting up a competitive magical research pool of 10,000 to gain the benefits of collaborative work, then killing off all but a handful of the best to preserve the Mysteries developed as a worthy use of human resources.

And, just to keep from making this a completely rec-less post:

Heartless features an SI who gets turned into a Shadow, the mookliest of mook Heartless, and tossed into a world full of elemental magic users. Needless to say, he is displeased.

The odd thing about 'Fate Revelation Online' is that being a magus somehow made Kayaba into less of a complete psychopath.  Also its by the same guy as 'Spying no Jutsu'.  He updated in batches the first two time (26 and to 32 the first times).

They really need to break down and admit their problem isn't software, it's that they're running a forum on a server intended for a third to half their current membership.

They have. Last I saw in the Lag thread, the forum admins aren't in regular contact with the owner of the server and the domain name.

Could be both. Just throwing more hardware at it will only go so far. (aws example: up to prices of 2562 a month for just one single high end instance.)

Optimizing first, in a way that is scalable is a better option.

An interesting Fate Stay Night, Fate Kaleid Liner and High School DxD crossover.
It works well with the crossover elements and has some hilarious omakes.

I gave this a try.  For what it manages to cover it comes off as very slow-paced, and the author can apparently only write in the simple past, simple present and simple future tenses, which makes reading it extraordinarily painful for me.  Surprisingly, though, I find myself intrigued and wanting more at the end of the extant material anyway.

Here's one I just stumbled over a couple days ago:

The Problem of Susan. (Narnia/Dr. Who/Torchwood.)

The capsule description puts it like this: "After her family is killed, Susan Pevensie starts to remember Narnia. Someone thinks that's a very bad idea." I don't think I can do any better without spoilers. The author appears to be posting a chapter every day, if the last three days are any indication.

Deja vu no Jutsu
A Naruto SI with a difference: the SI is reborn as a baby in Konoha, growing up alongside Namikaze Minato. Butterflies abound: 14 chapters and 350,000 words later and they've not even reached the birth of Naruto (assuming that that even happens).
