Robert J Woodhead isn't going back to where it all began -- I think that would involve a re-release of the Wizardry games -- but he is bringing AnimEigo's very first OAV release back into print, with the Metal Skin Panic: MADOX-01 Unobtainium Edition.

Yeah, even I can only keep that particular bit going for so long, even if I thought everyone here would be up for it, but it seemed an apposite way to lead into telling you about The Importance of Being Ernest (sic). That's right, a documentary about the late, arguably great Jim Varney, particularly about the character who put him on the map -- the thoroughly disengormed Ernest P. Worrell -- not only is seeking funds, it's perilously close to making its goal. The director studied his craft under John Cherry, the advert-maker who first inflicted Ernest on an unsuspecting world back in the 80s or so, and his basis is a book by Varney's actual nephew. Years and years ago when there were wolves in Wales and uncles at Christmas, Tennessee-based Infinite Dreams Gaming kickstarted an official Warehouse 13 board game, in which players stepped into the roles of the agents off the Syfy show, working to collect and neutralize Artifacts and, hopefully, figure out which one of them was secretly working with the ex-agent James McPherson before he got his hands on a dangerous Artifact. Now, they've got a campaign going for an expansion that lets you play with Helena "H.G." Wells as the adversary and McPherson as a loyal agent -- or the other way around in revoise, if that's your speed -- and de-Bronzes old-school agents Jack Secord and Rebecca St. Clair for your gaming pleasure. It's on the cusp of funding, despite my having shamefully neglected to tell you about it for a week or so, and the campaign continues through July 14.

Steve Jackson Games has launched their GURPS 2021 PDF Challenge. $3 gets you up to a dozen ten page PDFs, depending on how many stretch goals get unlocked. The Kickstarter has only been running a few hours, and they're already close to unlocking the fifth PDF.

Three days left on the GURPS 2021 PDF Challenge, and 10 of the 12 PDFs have been unlocked. They've also included a $5 add-on titled "How to Be a GURPS GM: Combat Encounters", as well as a new $99 rewards tier which grants all the unlocked PDFs plus $125 in BackerKit credit. Only PDFs published by Steve Jackson Games and currently listed for sale on Warehouse 23 qualify, and the credit must be used by the survey deadline. Unspent credit is lost.
