It was actually pretty goddamned epic - that's why the Internet is so up in arms over it.  I'll put it in a spoiler, but suffice to say?  Chris Rock went a bit too far and got what was coming to him.

So, the Academy Awards, right?  Snores-ville.  At least, that is, the one time you *don't* watch it, and then something like the infamous Academy Awards Streaker happens.

Basically, Smith and his wife, who's been suffering from various illnesses, were pretty much front-row-center while Chris Rock was doing what he usually does: taking other people down.  Thing is, in the past he's already made fun of Jada and her losing her hair.  (If you ask me, though?  She's the type to look awesome while rocking out the Sinead O'Conner look.)  And of course, since they're right up there in front of him, Rock just has to start his shit.

Will was sick of it, so he just marches right up onto the stage, and without a word, literally bitch-slaps Chris Rock.

What was most telling about the whole thing was that for a minute or two there, Rock couldn't even compute what had happened.  Smith had to yell at him several times, "Keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth!" before it finally seemed to register.

Smith did later on apologize for his actions... but only towards the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the viewers at home.  He specifically left Chris Rock out of that list of people.

Consider this, though.

While the United States does indeed lead the world for Astronaut Deaths, the number of Ground Crew Deaths in Russia is absolutely horrifying.  It is so bad that they've even lost ENTIRE upper-level echelons of command staff to accidents at the launch pad.

Astronauts and Cosmonauts all know what they do is inherently dangerous.

Those ground crews, though... I bet many of them never imagined the horrifying and grizzly ends that they were about to have.
