As an aside, I noticed that Secret Return of Alice Mack is listed as complete on TTH, so the epilogue (appendix? One of the two... I have it in queue, but it keeps getting pushed down by shorter things) is probably up. I don't have a link, but if you don't know where it is by NOW...

Spoiler/rant:
Alicia seemed *much* weaker in this story than the original. With people there to physically restrain her, it seems like her mental problems went much farther than in Path of the Fury. Where before she is able to wrench herself out of her bloodrage with just people talking to her, now it takes Faith trying to beat her down and then Tannis tranqing her, and her waking up to 'situation resolved'. The overall plot seems more to be 'how can we fit Faith into the plot without changing it'. However, since Faith is so strong, someone else had to be made weak, i.e. Alicia.

And that balance is always the roughest problem with crossover fics. Note though that Faith did not beat Alicia and probably was not going to be able to without outside help.

Oh yes, you did make that clear: In Alicia vr Faith, Faith would have to cheat horribly to win. However, I just didn't feel like the cross added anything, and that's my major litmus test if I really like a crossover story or not. Don't get me wrong, its still a good story, just not a great one, in my opinion.

Weber universes where crossover fanfics are hard, very hard

"Path of the Fury" and "Mutineers Moon" are very near the top of my ten most favorite universes, but I consider both extremely hard to write a crossovers or even a simple Fanfic in.
I have trouble even completing out lines of ideas for these two universes Weber gave us a peek at and only ever had one crossover idea that I thought was worth writing down for the "Path of the Fury" universe and you have completed a cross over story that was fun, readable and even managed to do it with the Buffy universe of all things.
Taken in total it was a slight disappointment, but only in comparison to your other extremely well written crossovers and the original peek we had at the Fury universe.
I've been rereading the "In Fury Born" version and I must say I would have never thought of using the "Stainless Steel Rat" to smooth a Buffyverse crossover.
Good Idea.
