RE: Kick ALL the Starters Part II
A RPG kickstarter that some here may be interested in

Reprinting the 3rd Ed Mutants and Masterminds books

10hrs to go, but fully funded
RE: Kick ALL the Starters Part II
Onyx Path has a new Exalted Kickstarter for the Sidereals:

SIDEREALS: Charting Fate's Course for Exalted Third Edition

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200...rd-edition
“I really hope I’m behind this convoluted mess; at least that way I’ll be able to get revenge by doing this to myself. I won’t even have to feel bad because it’ll be all my fault.” - Harry Potter, The Master of Death by Ryuugi.
RE: Kick ALL the Starters Part II
Onyx Path Publishing Wrote:The Sidereal Exalted are many things: Starry-eyed seers gifted with insight into the nature of fate. Elite agents of Heaven, troubleshooting threats to destiny in Creation and beyond. Legendary martial artists, whose secret techniques strike the soul and shatter reality. Celestial powerbrokers and intriguers who treat with gods as equals. Puppetmasters who steer the course of nations with a word in a queen’s ear.

And yet it is their their curse to be forgotten by the world.

Burdened by their arcane fate, the Sidereal Exalted are heroes unremembered, serving Creation and bending the arc of history from behind the scenes. Now, with Creation fallen into a Time of Tumult, all that the Sidereals have worked for stands on the brink of annihilation once more. Their choices and deeds will shape the future, whether it be one of glory or tragedy.

Sidereals: Charting Fate’s Course is an expansion for the Exalted Third Edition tabletop roleplaying game. It’s set in a mythic world where spirits walk openly among humanity, warring demigods topple kingdoms, and the restless dead roam on moonless nights. Heroes granted divine power contend against one another for the future of Creation. These are the Exalted!

Over 300% funded after just four hours and change. Unlocked stretch goals include a Storyteller's screen, martial arts styles corresponding to the other four divisions of the Bureau of Destiny*, a jumpstart adventure with ready-made Sidereal characters, a section of Storyteller advice, new and returning sorcery, and plot-hooks from the streets of Heaven. Now how much would you pay?

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200...rd-edition

* Explainer for Exalted novices: the default Sidereal Charm tree in the Brawl/Martial Arts skill is called Violet Bier of Sorrows Style, because that skill is among those favored by the Favored of Saturn. Now, we'll get to see Golden Barque of Journeys the Heavens Style (Mercury), Cerulean Lute of Harmony (Venus), Crimson Panoply of Victory (Mars), and Forbidding Manse of Ivy (Jupiter).
RE: Kick ALL the Starters Part II

The second arc of the "Mother of Learning" webnovel is getting a hardcover and paperback print edition. If like me you missed the previous Kickstarter, copies of book one are available as an add-on.

Quote:Zorian, a mage in training, only wanted to finish his education in peace. Now he struggles to find answers as he finds himself repeatedly reliving the same month. 'Groundhog Day' style setup in a fantasy world.

I loved the fic enough that I'm willing to spend money on actual physical copies, although mine will be paperback since money is a bit tight and that'll save me about $30.

RE: Kick ALL the Starters Part II
Apparently, everybody just assumed somebody else would post about the latest Onyx Path project.

Kickstarter Concierge James Bell Wrote:The They Came From... tabletop roleplaying games take your favorite movies, television shows, video games, and pop culture touchstones and turn them into action-packed and wise-cracking opportunities to tell your own versions of these cinematic stories. Previous releases have explored B-movie atomic horror from the 1950s (They Came from Beneath the Sea!), twisted tales of horror from the 1960s and '70s (They Came from Beyond the Grave!), quest-filled fantasy adventure stories (They Came from the Cyclops's Cave!), and thrilling tales of world-saving espionage (They Came from [CLASSIFIED]!).

They Came From the RPG Anthology! is a collection of They Came From genre pieces made available under one cover. Some of the genres featured were pre-selected by the developer, others will be voted in by backers of this Kickstarter campaign. These individual chapters cover types of movies, TV shows, games, and more that have yet gone untouched in the They Came From tabletop RPG library.

You’ll find chapters here dedicated to Westerns, in the form of They Came from Cowboy’s Gulch!, and Noir, in the form of They Came from the Mean Streets! Going off the wall a little, we’ll also explore costume dramas from the Regency to the Edwardian period, with They Came from Bridgton Rectory!, and then transition from the screen to the stage with They Came from the Bard’s Quill! You’ll also find the much-demanded They Came from the Interstellar Starship!, as people haven’t stopped asking for it ever since They Came from Beneath the Sea! was released.

In addition to the five chapters already present in the draft manuscript, backers for this campaign will be voting weekly to select another genre to add to the list! By backing this campaign and supporting this project, you're not only helping to fund the continued development and production of this book, you'll be able to influence the contents as we add new chapters and cover new genres!

(Most if not all of the votes have closed by now. Being added to the mix are They Came from the Billiard Room with the Candlestick! {mystery solving in the Jane Marple/Benoit Blanc mode}, They Came from Beneath Capes and Cowls! {four-color superheroics in the Stunning Silver Age Style}, and They Came from the Meticulously Planned Bank Job! {heist and gangster movies}. Some worthy options got bypassed, but we may get a second chance to pick one of them.)

Quote:They Came From the RPG Anthology! is also a simplification of the system used in the They Came From games to date. Within this book you’ll find a quick play ruleset based on a streamlined version of the Storypath system. They Came From the RPG Anthology! also includes the Storypath Ultra ruleset as an Appendix so you can retroactively apply it to the existing They Came From games if you want to give them the full Storypath Ultra experience.

Five days to go, 102% funded. Now how much would you pay?

Ken Mahon.

A polygenreous exploration of the life of the Immortal Gilbert Marlowe. Either Slice of life, or Science Fiction, Sports or Horror or Fantasy.

I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed.

One day they're going to ban them.

On BackerKit, the New Pulp setting Onyx Path scavenged from White Wolf takes a further step into the past.

Your Crowdfunding Concierge Wrote:Trinity Continuum: Aegis is a game of epic adventure and exploration set during Greece’s Iron Age. The setting features figures and events from history and mythology, viewed through the lens of the Trinity Continuum. In this game you’ll play Champions, Oracles, and Olympians — characters who have come into contact with the mysterious substance called ambrosia and been transformed into Inspired individuals with powers similar to Talents, Psiads, and Novas millennia ahead of their counterparts’ times. The Trinity Continuum Corebook is required to play this game.

These characters live in an age of wonder and discovery. People in the ancient world made amazing strides in science, exploration, and philosophy, all while grappling (sometimes literally!) with gods and monsters. About a decade ago, bright streaks flashed across the sky and a fiery object crashed into Mount Olympus. Other pieces landed throughout the world, creating heroes and horrors wherever they touched down.

Trinity Continuum: Aegis continues to explore the Trinity Continuum’s themes of hope, sacrifice, and unity — in an age where societies are in decline and survival sometimes feels uncertain, these are the tenets under which people band together.

Warehouse 23 Wrote:Under the dissolute Emperor Caligula, the Roman Senate gets down to serious business: drinking. But they keep on making laws. The usual penalty for disobedience: take another drink! Can you make laws that will trap your friends into going broke . . . or just not being able to find the table?

A Drinking Game Unlike Any Other

Designed by Steve Jackson, Caligula is an adult party game that combines imbibing with a slate of ever-shifting rules. Players create new laws and penalties for breaking those laws, then try to trick others into running afoul of the edicts (or paying a fine). Made for players aged 21 and up, this game is perfect for game nights, block parties, backyard barbecues and other friendly gatherings. Best of all, the game’s Pocket Box design makes it easy to store and transport for plenty of fun at home or on the go.

(If you want to make rules but don't want to drink, the game is completely playable without alcohol. Just assign the penalties to money and/or embarrassing forfeits, and you're golden. SPQR, baby!

I won't be funding any more Onyx Path projects beyond the rough draft manuscript level. I'm currently waiting on six physical books, and they seem to have been cutting a lot of corners on their projects over the last year or so.
