<sigh> As usual, never trust a meme pic. NASA never said that. The Jerusalem Post did, apparently to translate NASA's arcane and unfamiliar metric units into terms their readers could grasp:

According to experts from NASA's Johnson Space Center, the meteor in question was just over 60 centimeters in diameter and weighed half a ton (or around 454 kilograms).
To put that in context, a baby elephant could weigh as much as 113 kilograms, according to experts from the Denver Zoo. This means that despite its diameter only being around the length of average Pembroke Welsh Corgi, the meteor still weighed as much as four baby elephants.

Still, even with correct attribution it makes for a good entry on All The Tropes' "Hiroshima as a Unit of Measure" page.

Automation of a repetitive job -- in this case, firing the noon gun so that everybody has a common reference time -- is obviously older than we thought.

What being mean costs is goodwill and bringing the general mood down; even people who stomp on others with a vicious glee are seldom happy overall, let alone everyone around them whether direct targets or not. Being mean racks up social debts while kindness at worst gets nothing, but more often pays dividends in kind later on.

The short is only powerful because of the low resistance of the ring let a shitton of current flow. Whether he would've gotten the shock or not depends on the voltage. Still a fair oul burn
