Ten year old mystery of dead bear cub found in New York's Central Park finally solved
No, I'm not posting this in the wrong thread, this is definitely election news, because reality has stopped making much sense recently.

I read that article and my sole thought is 'As you do'
It's amusingly batshit rather than disturbingly malicious.
I love the smell of rotaries in the morning. You know one time, I got to work early, before the rush hour. I walked through the empty carpark, I didn't see one bloody Prius or Golf. And that smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole carpark, smelled like.... ....speed.
One day they're going to ban them.

The Dem ticket is Harris/Walz.
He's a white guy, but that's true of pretty much everybody who had any reasonable expectation of being picked.

So, has RFK Jr. picked a running mate yet? Asking for completeness.

RFK Jr./Saint Jude
I'm just waiting for the righties to start banging on about how the crashing financial markets means people should vote for Cheatoman, because he has experience in going bankrupt

The breakdown has been quite impressive. From the couch-fucking dolphin-porn watching weirdo that was proposed as VP and they now appear to be stuck with him, to - well - the whole Black Journalists thing....
...he's lurching around like an airliner with no hydraulics and the entire republican party are screaming in terror in the cabin behind him because they know this wild ride's only going to end in a mountainside fireball.

It also seems like the Republicans and their supporters have absolutely nothing to smear Tim Walz with.
That probably won't hold forever, but they're flailing around desperately for anything at all.

It might hold for long enough.
If the GOP had anything, they would have used it against him last election when he successfully ran for Governor of Minnesota. Because the GOP doesn't appear to believe in holding anything in reserve.

They’re attacking Walz on his military record. Apparently he left the Army National Guard a couple months before they were deployed to the sandbox, doing a cut and run… after 24 years of service.
Yeah, straws.

Meanwhile, Trump can't remember which foot was supposed to have the bone spurs that kept him out of Vietnam...

well he showed up at one of his rallies with a bandage over the wrong ear too. If he forgets something that recent how is supposed to recall the details of a lie from that far back?

Reuters says the video "evidence" of him putting a bandage on the wrong ear is faked. Reuters is a respected news agency (a real news agency, not like FAUX Noise), unlikely to lie on behalf of the Donvict a.k.a. Dolt45 a.k.a. the President-Reject.

Slight digression... I am so tempted to update All The Tropes' Style Guide on the use of abbreviations with this text:
Quote:Don't use abbreviations. Be kind to the dozens if not hundreds of people who hear "MAGA" and do ''not'' immediately think of the now-defunct [https://www.theshelbyreport.com/2014/12/...perations/ Mexican American Grocers Association] (and many of them think of the [https://www.minnesotaapple.org/ Minnesota Apple Growers Association] instead), and avoid abbreviations altogether.
But, hey, if somebody says "MAGA" without context, feel free to ask "Why are you talking about the Mexican American Grocers Association?"

I just had a terrifying thought: If Trump loses this election, then he'll be running again in 2028, and it will be Groundhog Day all over again.

Ah, but he'll be over 80, which the GOP says is too old to run for President.
Unless, of course, they apply their usual "rules apply to everybody but the GOP" double standard.

Given the current state of his cognitive decline, in four years there'd be no way they could convince even the MAGA crowd that he'd be a viable candidate -- he'll be a drooling vegetable.
Of course in that case they'll present some other extremist as his "worthy successor" in the dynasty -- assuming the moderates don't finally wrest control back from the "The Constitution is woke, we need a proper conservative dictatorship" crowd.

The "drooling vegetable Trump" is just fake news wokestream media DEI propaganda.
Also it's not just moderates who have lost control of the Republican Party, most market conservatives are out too: it's all right populists in the inner circle now.

Trump suffers complete meltdown over the last night of the Democratic national convention, makes some fifty rambling incoherent posts (starting inexplicably with "WHERE'S HUNTER?") on Truth, calls Fox to rage on the air, to the point that they simply cut him off after ten minutes (after which he then called Newsmax to keep raging on the air there).
