My Apartment Manager is not a Wiki Thread, #3
RE: My Apartment Manager is not a Wiki Thread, #3
New page: Special:UnusedRedirects. Not very much to discover here, mainly some redirected talk pages. But it's available for other wikis now due to our request.

Coolness. If it works on ATT, that'll make my efforts to clear out old and garbage redirects that much easier.

And a heads up: As of 8:34 AM today, EDT, the wiki started throwing this error for any and every page:

Quote:MediaWiki internal error.
Original exception: [8c206a1ef4b3b80f4936c692] 2024-10-03 12:34:04: Fatal exception of type "ArgumentCountError"
Exception caught inside exception handler.
Set $wgShowExceptionDetails = true; at the bottom of LocalSettings.php to show detailed debugging information.

Interestingly, ATT isn't affected.

I have submitted a ticket to Maniphest, and subscribed Rob and Brent to it.

And two hours later it was back. Meanwhile nothing's happened with the ticket.

Maybe we should set that flag to true. Most of the writers have enough technical knowledge to make sense of a detailed error message.

I've added a new character attribute template. Please add anybody who I missed.

Another new character attribute template. Echoing Bob, Please add anybody who I missed.

(No, I didn't miss Ui. She's a savant, not a normal girl.)

3 ideas: Naru Osaka (Sailor Moon) and maybe Nabiki and Kasumi Tendo

I have no clue how to edit the wiki.

Edit: From the Firefly cast maybe Wash or Simon? And didn't some of the NGE pilots' classmates get pulled along? Or am I misremembering?
(Mal, Zoey, and Jayne are trained and experienced fighters, Kaylie is a savant with her machines, Book seemed to have a 'retired secret agent' vibe going, Imara is a Companion and martial artist, and then there's River who fits many categories but 'Normal' is not one of them.

Well, Norgarth, the first step to editing the wiki is to ask for an account. While we've opened it for anyone to read (at least the public parts), to edit you need basically a writer's account. I'm sure Brent or Rob can set you up with one if you really want it.

EDIT: And really, since you're a part of the project, it wouldn't hurt to have one just in case you think of something you'd like to add.

Create an account there, then PM me here with the account name. I'll give you the rights you'll need once my ISP finishes my upgrade work in a few hours.

I've given you "member" rights (which should let you see the pages that people who aren't logged in can't see) and "writer" rights (which should let you edit pages).

I'm using your account in an experiment: I didn't give you "autopatrolled" rights yet, so your edits should be marked as needing to be patrolled until somebody patrols them. Let's see whether this works the way we think it does.

The wiki is intermittently disappearing this morning -- I've had edits made to the same page fail to save a couple times now with any of several error messages, sometimes one after another, including a "Something went wrong" page with either a "504" error or the explanation "Web server is down. The web server is not returning a connection. As a result, the web page is not displaying." and a simple black-on-white text page reading "This wiki is temporarily unavailable ... (Cannot access the database: Cannot access the database: Too many connections (db151))"

EDIT: Just trying to load pages now is failing with the same errors, as well as a "Something went wrong" page with a "Try this action again" and "Learn more" buttons, and a "temporarily unavalable" page with the detail "Connection refused (db151)".

EDIT 2: And ATT just went down, too. It was still responding when the KKP wiki started misbehaving.

EDIT 3: And both are back in the time it took me to complain about it both here and in the ATT thread in General. <sigh>

So, in doing some post-Scouting Report wiki'ing, I started wondering if we had enough relevant characters to make a "Thief" character attribute template worth doing up. There's Emerald of course, but who else? Hermes included thieves in his portfolio, IIRC. Some of the folks in the Penthouse and Ange le Carre might have thief skills as part of their "spy" skillset. Charlie McGee is explicitly noted as using TK for petty theft. Ryoko? Happosai? Dawn Summers had that klepto thing going in one season of Buffy. Any others?

EDIT: Sun Wukong of RWBY.

Thanks, Rob. I've gone ahead and created it, but didn't add everyone I suggested above -- Ryoko seems adequately covered by "criminal", and despite being the god of thieves, Hermes doesn't seem to do any himself, and basically I want consensus on the rest, maybe during the meeting tonight.

ISTR Hermes stealing Apollo's cattle fairly early on and creating the first lyre to buy the sun god off after the fact.

Weren't the Black Lagoon crew hanging out at a south-east Asian Residence?

Though I was pretty sure Captain Jack and Roman&Neo weren't active characters. Smile

RE: My Apartment Manager is not a Wiki Thread, #3
Their residence is the Black Lagoon, and it's in the Gulf of Thailand.

And you are correct about the inactive characters. Which is why I didn't add the template to their pages. <grin>

The Black Lagoon crew don't need a residence, they have their own pier and a boat.  Technically they do live on land when they can.  By 2016, satellite internet still isn't quite good enough for Benny.

Lupin III still isn't in our setting (despite Tomo wanting to be Fujiko).  I think if we got any version of Lupin in our story, it might be Assane Diop.  Well, technically we have Charlotte of Albion, but she isn't at Lupin's skill level yet.

Also vaguely wondering if SG-1 counts as thieves.  Go ahead and crosslink the category page with Category:Archaeologist.

Hey, guys... I normally check out Matomo Analytics every week or so to see how much traffic we're getting that isn't us, but when I just tried to look this morning, I got the following:

Quote:You do not have permission to view Matomo-collected analytics, for the following reason:
The action you have requested is limited to users in the group: Ajaxpoll.json.

That group name looks real odd...
