If they don't follow the teachings of Christ, then they shouldn't be called Christians at all.

Yes, that's Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
EDIT: BTW, love the implication that Nixon's acceptable, but Trump isn't.

Nixon accepted responsibility for his own actions.

True. But he still wasn't repentant -- remember the Nixon Doctrine, as he explained it in his 1977 interview with David Frost: "When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal." He had no problem accepting responsibility for his actions because he did not think he had ever done anything wrong. At the time it was considered shocking and evidence of his arrogance and basic criminality. Today? Judging by Trump's enablers in and out of Congress, it's a fundamental plank of Republican policy with the word "Republican" inserted strategically.

Er... weren't the Romans white?
Mind you, that would mean the white people in the Bible were the villains.

No, there wasn't a single white person in Rome. The modern racial categories really shouldn't be applied to the past, because people in the past didn't see race, certainly not in the same way we've been programmed. Romans had people of African descent (where Africa is now Tunisia, of course), pale skinned people from Britannia (though go back far enough and the earliest skeletons discovered there had dark skin), and lots of people who looked like they're from the Mediterranean area. People in the past were definitely racist, but had completely different categories, mostly based on culture.
Race is a lie from top to bottom. The worst lie the racists got us to believe is that race exists at all.
